I assume it’s a recent thing, hopefully it’ll be fixed soon. Was looking forward to getting back into guild wars 2.

I was looking at the patch notes and saw some nice improvements and wanted to test things out.(Reinstalled windows a few months ago, haven’t placed since then) but this stupid thing appears :-( I also wanted to test the game’s speed because i overclocked my CPU by 0,5Ghz(total of 2Ghz if you count all the cores. i’ve got a AMD FX-8320. Running on 4,5Ghz now)

THANK YOU… its way too large. I only want the launcher file. I won’t get full speed on this download… I’ve got a 150Mbps download speed and i only get 30 Mbps here(3.4MB/s)
Edit: Also it’s way to old i will have to redownload 70% of the client probably lol

You are probably going to have to do a lot of patching, since this is from like 2010, but it’s better than waiting for your browser to download a 14 gig file.

August 5th 2014 and I’ve spent two days trying to download the game client.

It keeps stopping for no apparent reason, telling me that there’s no connection.

I’ve left my laptop running for over 14 hours, to see if the download will simply continue and all I have woken up to, is a download rate of 0.00.

What’s going on?

I have the same issue, I tried to reinstall the game because both of my lvl 80 characters were stuck in Lion’s Arch… every time i tried to load LA with any character I would simply get disconnected with a message saying that the connection was not good enough (that character would also get stuck in LA). Now that I am reinstalling it keeps turning itself off, stating that there is some connection error. I suspect that these two issues are related.

If they are related, Anet is aware of the problem and they are working on solving it atm.

Edit: It seems to work for a short period of time if you keep restarting the client and that way download maybe 5,000 files at a time. But ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat!
