Guild Wars 2

Hi! I really wanted to play some guild wars 2, so I decided to start up the download overnight. Well, that’s not going to work as it times out due to a bad connection. My connection isn’t the best it should be fine, right? (http://www.speedtest.net/result/5237755896.png). Many other things download just fine. Why can’t I download gw2?

To clarify: I can’t download the .exe program. So I can’t even start the launcher. And my personal firewall is turned off. And to my knowledge gw2 isn’t blocked by the big one, as I can access this website just fine.

Speed test does not show you the connection to Seattle where the servers are located. It just takes the nearest speed test server.

You can download ping plotter. It’s free and can be downloaded on your computer or phone as an app

You will be looking for packet loss issues at different hops to the server. Packet loss is shown on the left. You will also want to look at latency issues as well which is indicated on the right side. There’s a line that as it goes more toward the right, the more latency issues you have.

I found the problem. It was the great firewall. Using a vpn made me able to download it just fine.
