Can't launch the application.
As of today’s date I’ve tried the Mac Client Beta and it still won’t launch:
Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
I have two harddrives and install it to the server harddrive not the mac harddrive. It is installed in Applications as well. I don’t use my Mac Mini as a server just extra hard drive space.. Any help will be great! I have been playing the game in VMFusion but playing just on the mac will help out alot, hence better performance and other issues.
I am having the same problem, except I don’t know how to get the error message, it just won’t launch from application.
Does it just not launch? Or is there an error message?
I have the same system and can no longer open GW2. It worked for me initially, but mysteriously stopped working one day. I have tried everything I can think of. Please help.
Fun — to answer your question, there is no error message, at least for me. It just doesn’t launch. I deleted the game with hopes that reinstalling would fix it, but now that isn’t an option. I’ve repaired my disk and permissions using Disk Utility. I’ve reset my SMC. Not sure what to try next.
Same problem as Faust (not launching with no error message) on mid-2010 MacBook Pro. 2..66 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB Ram, nVidia 320m, Mountain Lion
Not sure if this will work but try opening up Activity Monitor and see if there are multiple instances (or even just one) of GW2 running – quit/force-quit those and then try re-launching.
Again, this is just something that plagues my system, and this is my fix for it, so GL!
I get no error message as well just doesn’t launch. I contacted NCSoft and they won’t deal with the issues do to the processor doesn’t meet the min system requirements. They said go to the forums. Yeah when I click on the Guildwars2 in the application folder on Mac it doesn’t even head into the icon bar on the screen that its starting up & running. I am hoping this issue gets fixed in an update for the beta. Currently can play and run in VMFusion, but am cutting my processor and ram in half, so its not a hardware issue but a software one.
Open Activity Monitor and look for ‘cider’ or ‘transgaming.’ If you see either, kill it.

Does the Crash.dmp update each time you attempt to launch the game?
Right-click “Guild Wars 2” in the Applications folder, then “Show package contents.” Navigate to Contents\Resources\transgaming\c_drive\GW2\Crash.dmp and look at the “Modified” date and time for that file.
I don’t know how to read what’s in that file, but maybe this will at least confirm whether the game is crashing.
Bought and downloaded today. Tried to login and getting the c000000005 error messgage when the game crashes when I press play at startup.
It’s a 2011 macbookpro
2.2 ghz
8 ram
snow leopard
I know snow leopard is below system requirements, but surely that shouldn’t STOP the game from even starting? I can’t find any solutions, what’s going on? I’m upset with my purchase at the moment.

There’s a reason they tell you to update: The TransGaming engine is no longer compatible with Snow Leopard. What video card do you have?

Killing the processes in Activity Monitor doesn’t work for me.
Meaning? Do they not terminate or do they not show up?

Meaning they do not show up. I erased my Mac partition and did a fresh install of Mountain Lion and GW2. Everything works fine now.
