So I went to buy 800 gems with my card and I keep getting “An unexpected error occurred”. Every time, with card information and paypal.
Anyone know?

Mine too with card or paypal I have tried a few times over the past two hours.

happen to me as well tried my card, contacted the bank they said its not posting on their end.

I put in a ticket they are reviewing my purchase attempts said not to try it until they they email me back.

Same here with 2 different cards, both of which I know are working otherwise.

Just tried to purchase gems and recieved the ‘Unexpected Error’ message. I tried twice and it failed both times. No problems with the card.

I have the same problem. Deleted the card and tried with same results over the past three days. It is definitely a problem with Anet’s system.

Have to add my voice to this, had the same problem for the past day or so.

Wanted to add another voice to this, am having same issue, trying to buy gems for last 3-4 days with a known good card. Have tried several times each day but still getting error.

yeah, this has been happening to me for the last week, but ive been reading some forums, and i came upon one where someone couldnt buy gems, because they were only clicking the 8000gem button, and thats what ive been doing only clicking that one, but a reply came in for that complaint and it said if you clicked any of the others 4000/1000/800 etc, it works, and processes through. its just the 8000 doesnt work, maybe anet banned you from clicking 8000 to much or something idk. but clicking 4000 gems or less seems to work for me, but maybe clicking another one you dont usually click works instead

This non-sense about the 8000 gem purchase is confirmed. Maybe it is a new rate limit or max over time; however, I haven’t purchased 8000 gems for a couple months so not sure there. In any event, if you drop down to 4000, you can purchase. I purchased multiple 4000 and then ran into the same error. Ridiculous.

Guys, I had a similar error/issue 2 weeks ago. And, yes, for me it was on Anet’s end, but Support got it all cleared up and I was able to buy gems afterwards. (It was about a 24 hour turn-around to get it resolved.)

I encourage you to put in a support ticket if you have not done so already. GL!

Having the same issue. Created ticked 4 days ago, no reply.

I also had the same issue a few days ago when I returned to the game.

I tried to purchase 8,000 gems twice using paypal and both times received an error. When I tried the purchase with 4,000 gems the order went through on the first attempt.

I have been trying for 3 days to make a gem purchase. I keep getting “Card declined” message, even thought there is more than enough in my account. What is going on? Getting a bit ticked off
