Guild Wars 2

Hello I really hope someone can help me. I just purchased the guild wars 2 digital deluxe edition of the game from Gamestop.

I made my account downloaded the game client and when I click on Gw2Setup.exe on my desktop I get a message saying.

The Procedure entry point AlphaBlend could not be located in the dynamic link library MSIMG32.dll

I really hope someone can help me figure this problem out

Try redownloading the client, its probably missing something…

I tried a few times to re download the client still the same error

I solved my issue here is what I did for anyone else that might have the same problem

Open up your computer and head to your C: drive

Continue on C: drive till it shows Local Disk (C:)/Users/(main user)*/AppData/Local/Temp

*The main user will be the user who is currently logged in trying to download GW2

You will find a file named Gw2.exe.

Right click on Gw2.exe and click “cut” and move the file to another folder. I made a folder on my desktop named it guild wars 2 put the file in there and boom it worked.

there is no file named gw2.exe. :/

The error you had indicates a problem with the OS. You may also want to run the system file checker just to make sure all of your important system files are there and the correct versions:
