Like Metrica Province or the Grove for example.

I can run other games on ultra settings just fine with little to no stuttering, so idk what’s up with this?

If GW2 is located on a normal disk drive, try defragging it. Some people have had heavy fragmentation, which causes stuttered loading, and saw improvements.

Sorry for my ignorance, how do I “defrag” it?

There probably isn’t a need for you to defrag because Windows does this automatically – unless you turn off that scheduled task.

Right click on the drive letter in File Explorer, pick properties, select the tools tab and you will find defrag in there. However Windows defrag will not do exceptionally large files.

There are also so third party defraggers that allow you to defrag a particular folder or file. I use Auslogics DiskDefrag. There is also Pirform’s (people who do CCleaner) Defraggler.

What version of Windows you have? Win 10 calls it File Explorer.

Better still, just Google how to do it.

Open “Computer” / “My Computer” / “My PC” or any folder where you can see your available drives. Right click the drive GW2 is located on, such as C:, and select properties. Under the properties, select the tools tab and click defragment now.

All versions of Windows within the last several years should automatically defragment your drives, so this may not be a problem. With older versions however, drives may become heavily fragmented, resulting in increased load times.

But as Behellagh said, Windows won’t defrag large files(which is halftrue)

By default Windows only defragments files smaller than 64 MB, for according to Microsoft’s benchmarks, fragments of this size, which already consist of at least 16000 contiguous clusters, have a negligible impact on performance. This means that games and large media files are effectively left as they are ! So if you still want to defrag files larger than 64 MB too, you need to use the -w parameter(in CMD) mentioned below to defragment files of all size.

(Which is said in the Win8 section but it has applied to windows since Vista or Win2000)
