My guild shares the tag [HOPE] with several other guilds, and a member of one of them recently requested we change our tag to a different word. I’d be open to discussing it with my guild, but as far as I can tell, it’s not possible to actually change a tag. Is that correct?

As far as everything I’ve looked into- that is correct. You cannot change a guild tag once it’s been set.

You could try creating a new version of your guild with a new tag, but that might be a larger headache to contend with depending on your guild size. It largely depends on you, though.

It’s unfortunate that this isn’t an easier process.

I mean, we have so much influence at this point… if we could transfer it, I’d consider it… but that’s not possible either… correct?

Correct, you can’t transfer influence. There are just going to be guilds that have the same TAG that aren’t branches of the same guild.

The only option you really have is to suggest that other Guild change their Guild tag. If they want to start over, they certainly can, if they find sharing a Guild tag is bothersome.

Everyone has the right to choose any tag and proudly display it. It is inevitable there will be some overlap.
