Today my toon with the name Intense Wargasm was forced to change because it was inappropriate. I made the name Intense Wargasm because I used to be an avid FPS player, and for those that are situationally unaware throwing reports around left and right for no reason, a wargasm is “the climax of gaming excitement, either FPS or RTS, characterised by intensely pleasurable sensations centred in the brain.” and I thought something like that would fit in very well with my warrior.

Can I please get an explanation on why my toons name is being forced to change? Because I see no justification other than an oversensitive 9 year old reporting me because his parents are standing behind him, and let’s get this straight, 9 year old shouldn’t be playing this game due to the age-rating.

I would like to request that ArenaNet revert this change and allow me to take my character name back without any hassle, as I don’t see where it conflicts with your policies.

Perhaps, it was a sensitive 79 year-old that didn’t care for the sexual reference. Whether it could be a reference to gaming euphoria, or something else, it was deemed inappropriate. Hopefully, you will choose a name that not only pleases you, but won’t be found offensive, this time. Good luck. =)

Similar to Eargasm, which I have seen on many places/products, including teenager magazines.

Intense Wargasm hasn’t really crossed the line, imo.

Only way to know for sure is to file a ticket with support. They can tell you why and if it was a just call.

I can see clearly why it has been changed many people won’t have a problem with it but some will so it will be changed for this reason

It is also the name of a video game as well as a heavy metal band. I would probably guess it was the sexual reference that did it however.

As mentioned above, that term is likely copyrighted and trademakred as well.

Keep in mind the the opinion of anyone not an official ANet employee is not relevant in terms of making the call on what you can use for IGN.

Not saying it’s not stretching the policy a bit, but I’d say anything with “gasam” can be identified with a “sexual act”.
