Guild Wars 2

I’ve never had problems with the game client before, but as of last night (Nov 4, Hong Kong) the game will not play. I click login and am logged in and see game update messages. When I click play the client immediately closes and there is no running windows process. I’m running on Windows 8.1 with Nvidia card (which has no problems up to now) and there have been no video driver updates.

I deleted the gw2.dat file and redownloaded it, this didn’t fix the problem.

I did the -repair option, it went through the repair popup. This didn’t fix the problem.

I uninstalled, downloaded a new gw2.exe file and reinstalled. This didn’t fix the problem.

Still getting a proper login with all files downloaded, but an immediate gw client app close when clicking the “play” button.

Having the same issue pre and post update repair and fresh install does not work

Restored windows to factory settings and did a fresh CD install of game. Got this on install.

same problem is still present

+1 to this. I’m having the exact same issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work. This repros on Windows 8.1. I have other Windows 7 machines that are fine and can still login for me.

I’m having the same issue, any news about this? Can’t even get the game started.
