I’ve run into this issue four times over the past week or so. It doesn’t happen every time I fight Tequatl, but when the crash occurs, it’s always at the same point: Right as I get event completion credit for defending the megalaser batteries for the third time (never the first two, always the third). I’ve tried repairing my GW2 client and have deleted my local.dat file since the crash started occuring, neither of which has resolved the issue.

Any insight into why this issue keeps occurring would be appreciated. It’s not a crippling issue, but I’d rather resolve whatever is causing the crashes if possible, as it’s highly irritating to 3/4ths beat Tequatl only to get kicked into overflow until after it dies, and thus not get any credit for a successful kill.

Crash report is attached since it was too long to include in the post. I can supply logs of previous crashes if required, this is just the most recent crash log.

Mine crashes daily just before the 4pm (server time) event starts and as the map is filling up.
They already have tons of error reports on this and confirmed it as a bug,
and not on my end.
If you find something has been done, ANYTHING, please let us know.
I’m starting to think we’ve been considered acceptable losses.

You are running into the OOM error(Out Of Memory) the problem lies with your OS. You are running the 32 bit version of Windows you will need to install the 64bit version the problem is how the 32bit version only allows 3.3gigs of ram to programs and apps. Where the 64bit version will allow up to 8gig of ram. If installing the 64bit version is not an option for you then try and free up ram by shutting down programs and apps you are not using while you play the game. But it’s just easier to reinstall with the 64bit version if you don’t have the DVD you can download it and burn it to a DVD your product key is good for both versions.

According to the report the game crashes due to an out of memory error. It is kinda strange that it always happens at the same time. Look if the other reports also have a line similar to "OOM: Heap, bytes=1920060, ".

Meanwhile you should reduce the graphics, especially Character Model Limit and Quality, and see if that prevents the crashes.

@Feirlista Xv: The report says “OSVersion: Windows 6.1 (64 bit)”.

Four of the five crashes that have occurred in the past week have been OOM errors. I believe the other one was file corruption, but wasn’t related to fighting Tequatl and happened before I repaired my installation. That crash only happened once (last Tuesday), but the OOM crashes are still happening.

I’ll try running some hardware tests overnight tonight and report back, as well as lowering some settings and attempting the fight again. I haven’t had any issues elsewhere (other games/programs or other GW2 world bosses), though. I lag more just walking around the Grove than I do while fighting Tequatl or Claw of Jormag.

@Tumult: When I first ran into the issue I found a bunch of other posts on various forums saying that people were having crashing issues on Tequatl, so I was aware it wasn’t an uncommon issue, but none of the reports I’d seen were as consistent as the issue I’ve been having, so I figured I’d see if there was something going on. I’ve seen a lot of reports of people crashing throughout the fight, but my crashes always happen right at event completion for the third battery defense. I’m hoping there’s some kind of workaround available, hence why I came here.

Update: I managed to kill Tequatl without crashing after turning all my settings down to minimum. I’m going to keep testing to see if it acts up again because it wasn’t crashing 100% of the time, but if this ends up working consistently I’m okay with the game looking like it belongs on the N64 for a single fight.
