Guild Wars 2

Tonight I’ve seen the GW2 client disconnect from the server a total of more than 12 times in a period of about 2 hours. This is not my connection, I even rebooted the router to be doubly-sure. Telltale signs are that skills won’t activate and other in-game entities (NPC’s stop talking, other toons stop moving, etc.), similar to just plain lagging out.

This is the only time it’s happened this frequently. Has anyone else been randomly booted to the login screen after a short time?

You’re not the only one. Same here. Random lag, then disconnect. I thought maybe it was just the Asura area. I’ve got far more computing power then I need to run the game, and the fact that others in the household are online playing other games and having no issues made me figure that its the client. Been happening for the past two days for me. I couldn’t even get to the forums today until right now. Hope it’s fixed soon!

The part about this that is the most frustrating is that this thread will likely get merged into the 18 page “OMG WERE LAGGING AND DISCONECTED THREAD” and then never get replied to. I played the game for almost 4 months with no issues and then suddenly around Christmas I started getting severe lag in Spvp.

I’m not to sure about other areas as all I really do is spvp but for instance last Saturday I disconnected nearly 15 times in a couple hour period. Tonight it’s happened already 4 times in the last 30 minutes. There’s also the sudden lag spikes where skills don’t activate etc and then it “fast forwards” And a bunch of out of range errors, damage figures and a death breakdown pops up. I’m actually pretty infuriated at this point.

The thing that makes this even worse is there’s know acknowledgment of this as a problem leaving everyone to believe it’s on their end. But after as many complaints as I’ve seen I’m starting to think it’s not me.

I’m relieved to see this is not just me. I’ve had this issue once before, during the first week or so of play, but since late December, on and off, I’ve had this issue again, the last two days or so most noticably. Right now I’m lucky if I get 5 minutes played without getting dropped. And for the record, no fps drop, latest video drivers, latest Windows 7 updates, solid ping and tracerts.

At this point it would be really good, and also appropriate for an Anet person to come on and say something is being done about it.

This makes the third week of increasing lag issues from the client-server connection. I can run other applications, browsers, and everything else on my PC fine. Yet, since the beginning of January I have had massive lag issues. This problem needs to be remedied before it starts giving a bad name to the game as a whole.

Have beem playing for two weeks now with no problems at all. No lag and one (1) disconenction in total. I guess the server I am on is extra stable if it’s a server side problem.

I’m bumping this because I’m having a lot of DCs. It only happens in WvW. Chat still goes and everyone else is fine, but I can’t use any of my abilities. All I can do is run around. Eventually it kicks me and I just log in again and everything is fine.

I know it’s not a connection issue because PvE works fine and every other thing I do on the internet works (stream videos, play games, surf, and etc)

same thing for me. It started to give me random lag in WvW today. From game release i never had such issues.

Game works great on PvE maps and there is no problem with that. Other online games works fine same as inet browsing.

As soon as I get into WvW out of nowhere everything starts to lag for me – including Teamspeak/mumble and after few moments I get DC. ( All I see during WvW is people running into walls on autorun cuz of lag )

Never had such issue and was playing game perfectly fine till now.

Any idea ?
