I logged in once tonight, tried to go to a different zone and that was it. Game updated automatically and now I can’t get past character select.

Posting “me to” like some brain dead AOLer.

Same problem, can log in, cant select carqacter, but maps won’t load.
Multiple error codes :
7:0:0:990:101 for a character in the last map
1083:5:7:1595:101 for a character in Lion’s Arch
and others I didn’t note

eventually was able to get in with a reroll.

Don’t know if it’s related or a complete fluke, I was about to post “me too” on this problem- all my characters never got past loading screen but a friend suggested I do a repair from this guide:

Took about 10 minutes and then I logged in and everything’s great – hopped multiple characters, doing things, changing zones

It appears they are having server issues. I actually found this wiki page that might provide some information.

I know it is becoming very repetitive, but this issue is the exact same as what is going on for me.

got the same thing… roll back this patch!

can log into client and get to character select, but then choosing a character will lead to super long load screen and eventual error + exit of client.

I am also having this issue. I’m currently in New England on a wired connection. I can login to both the forums and the game, but cannot load the maps. Load times for the site are also taking much longer than usual.

Yup, same problem for me, I can access the character selection screen, and when the map loading screen comes up, the error message shows up a few seconds later.

From near 20 attempts:
15 – error and relaunch
4 – loading to previous map
1 – loading to map where I need to jump.

You guys DO realize this is a thread from a year ago, right? The issue is related to the patch, they’re working on it.

Facebook is flooded with posts to anet as well about the issue. I’m sure something went extremely wrong on their end we just gotta be patient. even though i want to play my rev >:(

Can’t even create a new character

I’m having this issue also. Meanwhile, my roommate (sitting a few feet away) was able to get into Queensdale, but after going to DR to see if he could get his bugged heal skill back he got the same issue trying to go back to QDale. Everything else I can do on the Internet works fine… well, the GW2 forums are slow as molasses, but that’s not new since HoT dropped.

I believe this has to do with the server you are trying to log into. I have two accounts. One on a less crowded server (Sorrow’s Furnace) and I can reach the map just fine. When I try to log into my newer account on one of the more crowded tiers, don’t remember which one, it crashes when it’s about to load the map.

same here.. for at least half an hour. Sometimes i can get in to Lions Arch, but i can’t go anywhere from there without a network error.
I’ve checked everything my end, and it’s all good.
Also, the forums and website are very slow to load.

There seems to be a major internet backbone outage. I doubt ANet can do much about this one. If the backbone between you and ANet’s game server is down, then you’re going to have issues.

The problem, at least for me, seems to be in Southsun Cove. If i try to play on my guardian, which is in that map, the games gets stuck. I managed to log in on other characters, on other maps, but not Southsun.

I was having the same issue, but this actually helped. Thank you. A friend of mine had the same problem, did this, and now he’s back in, as well.

PC computer, in Canada.

I found that my HoT account was fine, where my other 2 (bought from Anet) accounts that doesn’t have HoT can’t load in.

Got into Lion’s Arch then like a fool tried to zone into Harathi Hinterlands and got kicked and can’t get back

Not happy others are having this problem, but glad to see it’s not just me.

I can not even get on my characters. Dont’t know if that is just my GW derer or includes others. Mine happeed ay last update too.

Funny I have 2 accounts- one can’t log in and the other logs in just fine.

Making it so that people can’t log in or get frozen when changing maps is something that needs to be caught before pushing a patch live. Come on.

Having same problem as others in this thread. Network Error 1083:5:7:1595:101. Restarted my computer and router. Tried logging on four different characters and same message. This problem has occurred after the latest patch about 2 hours ago.

Please fix, my revenant is lonely!

I agree, this is way too much lag so far.

In the meantime, I at least want to get my dailies on my non-HoT accounts before bedtime… hopefully… I hope my non-HoT friends (monetary constraints) are ok.

I am suddenly having this issue tonight. Have been looking forward to getting in just a little play time after a long hard day at work before going to bed and now it looks as if I am not going to get that. :sad face:

I certainly hope you are trolling. This game has minimal to no downtime and is incredibly diligent with their fixes to make the game playable. You must be new to MMO’s lol.

Back on topic, a response from Anet would be nice, even if it’s just to let us know they have some clue as to what is causing this outage.

Unable to login after update also been 40 minutes, no success. Steam connects and watching streaming videos work fine (so its not my ISP)

I repaired my client/launcher and was able to get back into the game fairly quickly and easily. But…when I ported to one of the borderlands in WvW….screen just stayed on loading and never moved.

So they really have a problem.

Suspicious post is suspicious.

My game was just fine, but this patch mess up !!! Now i cant load a map. I understand, you Developers must fix things with patchs, but i fell the reverse. And please stop say things like “Its you connection”, others games just rum fine. I dont wanna play other game then HOT.
