Have you checked your temps while running these games? Particularly CPU and GPU. Make sure your vid card is seated well.

I have this banding issue when I am underwater in Guild Wars 2 and it shows up in other games as well, and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. It can be really annoying at times, depending how bad it is. It is a bit hard to see in a normal screen shot, it is a lot more noticeable when I am actually moving around doing things.

I have an attached image of this issue with higher contrast and brightness so it can be seen more easily.

Other games this happens in:
Defiance
Minecraft
Battlefield 3
Bioshock Infinite
Diablo 3
Torchlight 2
and a bunch more

Anyone know a fix for this? A lot of people I have heard said it is a common issue, but I haven’t noticed something like this until this year, and it is really bad during cinematics or the logo screens for games on Steam,

This also happens on multiple computers / monitors. I have tried multiple driver versions for AMD as well. I have been trying to fix this for almost half a year now. I also want to point out I work with computers a lot, and have tried almost every trouble shooting step that has come to mind.

Computer:
Asrock Extreme4 Z77
i5 3570k
AMD 7950
Corsair 750W PSU
8GB Corsair Vengeance
OCZ 120GB SSD

Just out of curiosity, does it happen when you are in both fullscreen and fullscreen windowed modes?

I get banding in games sometimes as well. It’s usually a corona-like effect around sources of light. I just assumed it’s because of the whole 6bit vs 8bit color depth issue with LCD monitors.
