Hello, I am trying to use -nosound but it’s not working on my latest client. I remember this option working some months before. I am not sure if my mac upgrade caused this issue (I moved to mavericks) or it’s a bug on the GW2 client.

I put <string>—cmdline “-nosound”</string> in CiderSettings.plist but is not working.

Thanks

Why? Simply drag the master volume slider in the game options to 0.

Hi, it’s not the same functionality. With -nosound you skip the whole audio system loading and you get a significant better performance in the game.

@ Tasos:
try this. It worked for me. It assumes your GW2 installation is in the default folder /Applications. In case the formatting gets messed up by the forums, there are two dashes between cider and use-dos-cwd. Note: you have to run this via the Terminal.app

/Applications/Guild\ Wars\ 2.app/Contents/MacOS/cider —use-dos-cwd C:/GW2 -- C:\\GW2\\GW2.exe -nosound

Yes this error appears to be a common with cider, but not critical. Just ignore it.
