Computer Crashes
You’ll need to post your system specs and the nature of the freeze – when, what etc – and, if you can, your crash log (ArenaNet.dat I think it’s called).
Oh, and by the way, there’s just been a new build and thousands are d/ling it now. You may be seeing a huge influx of players right now which may be contributing.

how do i do this
the nature of the freeze is randomly throughout the game ill be in combat or just exploring the world and my computer will freeze to the point where i have to hold my modem button to reset it and my specs are:
AMD FX™-6100 six core processor
3.30 ghz
8gb of ram
64 bit operating system windows 7 service pack 1
graphics card is GeForce GTX 550 Ti
In your documents/guildwars 2/ folder there should be a file called ArenaNet.something file. Attach that as a text here.

Well since the patch about an hour ago I get serious error crashes randomly occuring, last one 5 mins ago was while taking some purchased items of the TP…. only time I have ever crashed with GW2 is… yep after the previous patch issues.

Ive had it UP TO HERE. Crashes have been starting since the last 2 patches and ITS STILL NOT FIXED!
What in Satan’s name have they been doing? I still stand by my stance of not buying gems, and telling everyone around me not to.

I had the same error after installing the patch, in my case I believe it is due to a file becoming corrupted during the installation, You should try using the repair tool, or reinstalling.
To use the repair tool, make a shortcut to Guild Wars 2, and add -repair to the end of the target area.
So the path will be …/Guild Wars 2/Gw2.exe" -repair
This didn’t work for me but it has apparantly worked for others, So I just reinstalled and haven’t had the error since.
Ive tried repair, reinstall, update drivers.
None of it worked. Its just the coding team being bad at their jobs.
me too absolutely nothing games not worth the trouble as of now to even try to play which is sad because it is amazing when it plays rite. DEVELOPERS GET ON FIXING THIS!!!
does anybody have any solutions other then the ones posted that can help to fix this issue?!
None that im aware of save buying a new computer, because apparently it works on some combinations of hardware but doesnt on the rest.
And the weird thing is the crashes are all due to coding and animations.
never had any issues or crashes until the very first patch after that its been all downhill and i can barely play for more then 20mins straight without a full crash happening absolutely unreal
Same mate, it started on the 13 Feb patch for me, but got worse on the 21 Feb patch to the point where it would crash about 5 minutes of loading into the map.

Your crash appears to be hardware related – it looks like a video card problem; possibly temperature related. Try lowering your graphics settings in game (less stress on the card).
Another thing you could try is removing and re-seating your video card. That tends to scrape the connections and will often correct “bad” slot-to-card connections.
It’s also a good idea to check out your temps. You can get (free) Hardware Monitor here:
how do i remove and re-seat my video card?
and how do u know the issue is a hardware issue my card works perfectly fine for all other games i play on my pc except for this one which is the only one im experiencing all the issues on
If you don’t know how to re-seat the card, I’d say just leave it as is.
“and how do u know the issue is a hardware issue my card works perfectly fine for all other games i play on my pc except for this one which is the only one im experiencing all the issues on”

They don’t vary by much throughout the log. Below shows corrupted textures, which are in the video card’s memory:
Model ‘0×00e342’: Missing anim or fallbacks: warmupw
Model ‘0×0075ae’: Can’t unlink child ‘0×00e2ef’ from parent bone ‘fxtip’, there’s no bone with that name.
Model ‘0×010067’: UnlinkModel called on CModel without LinkComponent
Model ‘0×006725’: Can’t unlink child ‘0×00d16b’ from parent bone ‘wristl’
There is a time factor before the crash, which is typical of overheating.
Of course, I could be wrong – I haven’t programmed in ages and am admittedly a bit rusty at analyzing these things.
I usually dont post however I see lots of folks having issues with this crash/freeze. After hours of testing etc on multiple platforms with games running dx9 I can confirm that the c00000005 error is coming from the pcie lane/ your gpu needs to be evaluted at its current speed and or voltage. My rec. is to iether lower the Mhz on your gpu or up the voltage to achieve a higher stability.
