i have a stange problem, only during fractal into Swampland level, before reaching Mossman or Bloomhunger some istant before exting from the water my computer always shut off instantaneously.
I have tried to format my system, change my video driver and other driver, change game configuration, repair game installation and reinstalling all.
I not have this problem if my game is in window mode.
No problems with other games.
No CPU/GPU/POWER overheating, no system crash/ BSOD (never).

My Computer is AMD X4 965 with 8Gb DDR3 and ATI Radeon 5870 1Gb

Please help me to resolve it.
Thanks

Look up how to look up event logs in windows and take a look in there. If there was some sort of system error it should be present in the logs. It will give you and us a better idea of what is happening with the machine.

Hi Xaras – My first guess here would be your PSU. Unfortunately there isn’t really a way for us to test this without being able to physically see your system, but that’s where I’d start.

THX Ashley Segovia,
I thought the same thing and I tried to removing 2 HDD, 1 DVD ROM, 1 DVD-RW all usb devices, all pci cards and all chassis fun.
Same problem.
The thing that makes me crazy is that i have this shut off into a precise point into the map, and does not depend on how long I played.
I shut off after 30 minutes of play or after 5 hours of play but only into the water of Swampland level.

Thns all for help.
Wait for new tips

If a power supply is failing and shutting down – it’s likely that removing hardware from your system will not make any difference.

You have two options here:

1) Substitute a known good working power supply.

2) Take a chance that it is for sure the PSU and replace it.

I was having a similar problem to this, however mine was in Lion’s Arch and only when holding 3 mouse buttons simultaneously (i do this a lot. weird fingers).

I was able to solve my own issue by updating my Marvell host controllers. If you are using Sata III you might try that.
