Guild Wars 2

My computer has been freezing and/or crashing whilst playing GW2. It has become more irritating and noticable whilst trying to complete Fractals. I’m not sure if it’s my computer overheating or what.
My GW2 folder is full of corrupt reports.
Any help?

I’m also having this problem. At varying intervals after starting the game it just suddenly freezes up and I have to hard reset my computer. It’s sudden too, and happens at random times. I’m getting decent frame rates and haven’t had this problem until fairly recently.

I understand without giving more technical information it’s hard to assess the problem. So if anyone thinks they can help, let me know what kind of information is needed (and possibly how to get said info). Thanks in advance.

attaching the entire crash log would be a start, it gives a great deal of information on the OS, Hardware and crash cause.

This may be a stupid question, but where can I find the crash log? I don’t get any errors or anything when this happens. The game simply freezes up and a loud annoying noise goes off before I’m forced to do a hard reset. Anyway, i digress, where can I find the crash logs again?

There is no ArenaNet.log file. Just a Local.dat file. I even tried doing a search in explorer in my whole drive and it couldn’t find the file. It seems like my game isn’t making logs after it freezes and I’m forced to reset.

That would imply your crash is a hardware issue rather then unstable software.

what operating system are you using (actually i suggest moving to a new thread Kherza, op’s issue is possibly caused by XP itself)

Alright, thanks Squall. I made a new thread called “Computer freezing up” for specifically my problem. Good luck to OP, seems he has a different problem than mine.

I’m having the same problems. Especially at Fractals. @ the beginnen of the update it was continually, but now I crash almost only at Fractals. Before the update everything was fine. Seems like the update is for a lot of people a downgrade.

I believe you have to run GW2 with the -log option to create the Arenanet.log file I am having similar problems myself and getting ready to submit a case.

Ah, ok. Thanks Jaryd. I just added it to my shortcut. I guess I’ll go play the gamenow until it crashes to get a log file haha.

Hello, the game client seems to crash as well as freeze my computer frequently when playing the game. It is rather frustrating, not saying it is the game or my computer, but it doesn’t freeze in any other instance of computer use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
