I use to have gw2 downloaded and everything worked fine. I uninstalled it because i didn’t want to play anymore. I decided to try downloading it again, but it keeps saying
connection error(s) detected. Retrying….
Ive run virus scans and nothing shows up.

Make sure ports 80, 443, 6112, and 6600 are open and being allowed through your firewall (if you have it up and running in the background). All 4 of these need to be open to play Guild Wars 2.
You can also try this:
add the following line to the Windows\system 32\drivers….hosts file:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

does work you need add the part that file is drivers/etc and then you permission do be able to edit or just make a copy and replace it

Try spotflux. I had the same problem (I bought game yesterday). I used it and download speed increased from 0.05 KB/s to 1-1.5 MB/s. Definitely this is not the full bandwidth but it is better than nothing.

I am another one in the line. After 10 months I have decided to give another try to GW2 and received ’Connection error(s) detected. Retrying. . ’.
So far I can say it stops in random moment of download. Once when it downloaded about 9 gigabytes of data, second time after about 4.5. When I flushed DNS and performed several other recommended actions ….and plugged out / in my modem, it resumed download just to get stuck again after another 300 MB data.
So far when clients isn’t returning the error it’s downloading at 1-2 MB/s speed.

Hi, im trying to re-install the game after a break period but throughout the whole installation i have had “connection error(s) detected…retrying”. After a while i finally have only 2 files left to install however it barely installs 20KB and then the message appears again with no signs of restarting again.
Any help appreciated, not a computer whiz so lamens terms please

Some players, in the past, had success with changing the Language of the Downloader when stuck while trying to download all the files.
It may be worth a try.

Im having the same problem as many others where my client is patching with 1 file to go and it slows right down and says “Connection error detected. Retrying”. Can anyone help me with my problem? Btw im not a computer genius so things may need to be explained in simple terms
