I suppose what I don’t personally understand is…..why initiate a patch during prime time hours?

Been lurking on this thread waiting to see if others could download yet. I couldn’t even start the download until AFTER I log into this forum. Now I’ve begun the download, it’s going slowly.

If you aren’t able to get past the first kb of it, try logging in here…it brought me a little luck

I’ll bet the Dev’s are just gritting their teeth hoping this all works like they planned. Patches are always sooo great in theory, until it’s go time, and you have X zillion players all trying to DL patch at once.

Downloading now. 800-1,000mb/sec —-so far Well, dropping to 100mb/sec

Over 5000 files to download, at 1mb per sec. gonna take a while

hmm, Seems that the % is based of number of files remaining and not size of download. Hit 62% at 300MB. Seems odd since it is the size that will dictate the time and not the number of files.

man arenanet should be like any other company…run better servers….and test things before putting it out…seems legit

had same issue now its almost done downloading yay…also they put alot of extra time into this patch from what i heard..probably testing and retesting everything so i’m sure it will go well but we will see

Had same issue in Win7. I right clicked the icon and ran as admin and it connected and patched. maybe that was the fix or just timing when i did that and it connected

Good question. I think it’s cause the messed up and couldn’t get the update out when they said they would, but, personally, I couldn’t give a kitten about this Wintersday event. I just wanted to run my dungeons and this has messed that up for me.

Patch appears to be just under 462MB.

Well if they were truly a FAIL of a game company. I believe they would have been Bankrupted by now and no more GW. They just need a bit of work lol. Keep up the go work AN don’t listen to the QQ. :-D and by the way patch is donloaded on my end lol 1.0mb – 1.5mb the whole time after it actually started :-P

SOLUTION…Easy…put Gw2.exe In the exception list of the antivirus…problem solved for me
