Have you made sure that all your graphics drivers and DirectX are up-to-date/have the latest patch?

I had this happen to me once where I kept getting connection errors after playing for random periods of time. Turned out my graphics card driver wasn’t updated (was right after they had made a patch to the game, too) and it was causing the game to disconnect at random.

If all drivers are up-to-date, have you tried running GameAdvisor? It will help narrow down where the connection problem is originating from. If you run the program and post the test file here, someone might be able to help narrow down where your problem is.

Alternatively, you could try running the GW2.exe program as an administrator and see if it will patch then. (fairly unlikely this will solve the problem, but worth a shot)

You could also sign in as administrator to your computer (if you’re not already) and add the following line to the Windows\system 32\drivers….hosts file:

174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

Might work. I can’t take credit for this solution though, I found it in another thread. Both Cheatek and Roshill posted this solution. (want to make sure they are acknowledged for it)
