I’m unable to connect to the server after installing what looked to be a patch a few minutes ago. No error code, just one red line: “connection errors detected, retrying.” Restarting my computer does not solve it, nor does attempting to run the repair utility.
Connecting from Canada (east coast) to the NA server Sanctum of Rall.

I got the same crap man, it’s quite frustrating. I know it’s not my internet connection because other games still play and I am accessing the internet just fine. Although Neverwinter and Star Trek Online just came out with a patch as well yesterday and I’m unable to connect to them either. SWTOR still works though as well as D3.

Possible problems are that everyone is hammering the update server and can’t give out enough connections or that maybe you need to open some ports on your router that Guild Wars 2 requires to be open. Search around on the forums for the exact ports, I don’t remember off the top of my head.
I’ve been playing since beta, and this is the first time I’ve had this problem. All of the known ports are open. The problem is not at my end. There is another thread on this exact error from ArenaNet dated a couple of months ago, in which ArenaNet acknowledged that. It’s locked, so I had to start a new thread today.

Ok good im not alone with this problem im also experiencing and I did do a forum search but the fixes are not working for me. Anyone know anything else besides the DNS flush, reboot, closing it out through task manager and reboot and trying to run as admin none of that is working.
Nothing has worked for me either, Kurtwk.
One thing ArenaNet did ask in the older thread was that we identify the country we’re connecting from and the region and server we’re trying to connect to.
eg. I’m east coast Canada trying to connect to NA Sanctum of Rall.
Feel free to add that in here… the more info they have, the better the outcome.
I managed to connect, but have been experiencing severe lag spikes every few minutes starting today as well. The kind of spike that makes swapping gear unresponsive and makes you suddenly lose half your hp in combat because the monster was still attacking you on the server’s end. I’m on Yak’s bend.
Oh I’ve also been disconnected twice as a result of those spikes.
Im on Sea of Sorrow United States Central time zone still not working for me it was just working 2 days ago then it said it had an update, now im just getting unable to connect to the server.
Well i was able to resolve my connection issue not saying this will work for everyone but, I was checking my anti virus and for my guild wars 2. The allow setting it was set to auto I set it to allow and it worked hope someone else can use this info.

Without changing anything, today I can connect to the server, despite it being the same high traffic time as it was when I couldn’t connect yesterday. Looks like ArenaNet were working hard behind the scenes.
I’m having same thing it first downloads till 1% then says “Connection error(s) detected, Retrying..” what fixes this?
I restarted and re-downloaded and turned off firewall ran as administer and disables all other programs still happens :/
Aoia it looks like you haven’t validated your email address. Select “Send”, then log into your email and follow the link to authorize your connection. It won’t let you connect unless you do that first (or have you already tried that?)

I did already though i don’t think it has anything to do with connection error :p
