Over the last few weeks the game has been freezing and locking up my computer.
Recently it is still doing the same thing but is also crashing my computer to the point that it shuts off instantly. This only happens when I play GW2. Yes my drivers and everything else is up to date. Any suggestions?

If your system physically powers down, you have a system fault. Does the system restart itself? If not then I suspect a PSU failure is imminent. If the system restarts, then its likely a BSOD.

It does not restart itself so it looks like a PSU. If so this will be the 3rd one in 12 months.
Btw never buy Cyberpower product or anything from New.Egg.
Thanks for the help Lex

When it comes to PSU never cheap out. If it comes down to a crappy psu to begain with the unit maybe stressed and therefore its lifespan will shorten drastically esp. on crappy psu with low watts etc. The only reason your system is prolly eating those psu is because your purchasing either not enough watts or just bad psu from unknown manufact.

Some advice on PSU purchases;

  1. Always get wattage above what you need; If you need 400w min, get a 500w to ensure your PSU is not over taxed.
  2. Always buy branded PSU’s; “generic” psu are a no no, as they are bad quality and can easily destroy and entire PC when they break down.
  3. Double check your case type; I often hear of people buying BTX cases and an ATX psu and having problems, so ensure you get the correct one for your system.
  4. Spend a little extra; A quality PSU by a branded manufacturer will last longer, have a cleaner supply and generally wont be an issue to your system as a whole. If it costs a little more than a competators “cheap” range, its worth it.
