Ok. Hello, My name is Anthius. I played GW2 when it was first released and recently took a few months off. From the time I started until the time I took a break I may have crashed 2 or 3 times. Completely random crashes, no big deal. During my break I got a GTX 760, I upgraded from a 580. A few days ago started playing again and have been getting a crazy amount of crashes. I crashed in the middle of WvW, in the middle of Lions Arch, in 2 different dungeons, and on some characters as soon as I logged in I got a game crash. Needless to say its been pretty frustrating. I was running the most up to date drives on my GTX 760 which was 327.23 so I uninstalled that driver and reverted back to 320.49. Still a huge amount of crashes. I still crash randomly everywhere I’m at. I ran the repair a few times and uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Still having issues.

So my question is, Is there anyone out there that is running GW2 with GTX 760 successfully with no crashes and if so what driver version are you using.

My specs are
GeForce GTX 760
Intel i7-2700k @3.5ghz
16g RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate
If it makes any difference I’m using a 500GB SSD

My sad face is very sad can someone please help me out or point me to someone who can?

Thank you, bless you all, and may all ur next lootbags contain something orange or purple worth a lot of money.

~Anthius

Have you tried running scan disk (also known as error-checking) on the drive? It looked like there were a lot of file corruption errors there.

A memtest probably wouldn’t hurt either.

It still appears that you have a damaged or corrupted game file according to your crashlog.
Are you sure you ran the “repair” properly?

  • First, close your game completely.
  • Next, make a copy of your Gw2 game shortcut and rename it “GW2 Repair” or to something that you will recognize it for being only for running a repair on your GW2 installation.
  • Now, right-click this “Gw2 Repair” shortcut and click on “Properties”.
  • On the “Shortcut” tab look in the “Target:” field, you should see:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” or wherever you have Guild Wars 2 installed.
  • After the closing quotation marks in this line put a space and then add -repair
It will look like this but with your GW2 install location:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” -repair
  • Hit OK after making this change.
  • Double-click to run this repair shortcut. Your game will run through a repair cycle and fix the damaged files.
  • After it runs through, you can then delete this shortcut if you would like.
  • Run your normal GW2 game shortcut and load the game as normal. Your issue should be fixed.

I’ll look into some more situations that can cause these problems. Currently researching PCI Express 3.0 issues with the card on a motherboard that does not support PCIe 3.0 and some motherboard/GTX 760 BIOS interactions. Not sure what motherboard you are running it on, just trying to look into more possible causes.

Also, what wattage is your power supply?
Running the game as Administrator?
Cleared GW2 cache files out also?

I am having very similar issues to you.

I used to have a GTX 460, vary rarely crashed. Upgraded to a GTX 760 not that long ago. Initially things were fine, but in the last couple of weeks I have been crashing more and more often.

Have run a MemTest86+ with no errors. Upgraded to the latest drivers today and it’s only made things worse :-(
