Constant Disconnects
Nothing from the tech support to suggest a fix>?
Hi, I think I’ll piggyback on your post hoping it might attract some attention. I’ve had the same problem. I’m running the same specs as you except for the following:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 (with latest drivers of course)
20 mbs cable connection
Live Security Essentials with all permissions for GW2 enabled.
I used to have no problem with disconnects close to launch. Then occasionally after half an hour to 2 hours, I would lose the server. Now, I find I can’t keep connected for more than 5 minutes in the mornings (-5:00 GMT, North American server). The problem is MUCH less prevalent in the evening. In addition, some days I have no problems at all! (So to me it would seem strange for it to be my hardware).
Another possibility I thought of which seems to refute any correlation: The problem got worse when students went back to school earlier this month, so there are fewer sinks in the area in the morning than at night. I have no idea if that kind of influence is even possible, but I thought I’d mention it.
Furthermore, other mmos including GW1 are running even more smoothly in the last month since I changed cable plans (I used to get much more infrequent disconnects with GW1, but now? Perfect)
Been having this problem for a week, game is totally unplayable. No response to my tickets, regret wasting $60 on a game that I can’t even play. Horrible customer service, players having issues? Oh cool, lets ignore them, who cares?
I’m also connecting to a North American Server (I’m in southern Ontario near Toronto).
I find the game unplayable as well I can’t risk going into fight a monster because I’ll likely disconnect and by the time I can reconnect (usually after two attempts). I’m dead. I like that arenanet does nightly updates or atleast tries to get around to patching things, but this is something that will crush the game if it doesn’t get fixed.. look at diablo 3 and how many people dropped it because of poor customer support with regards to the game being unplayable for numerous people. The same will happen if this issue isn’t raised and addressed.
That’s funny, Hedgey, I’m only 40 minutes north of Toronto. I hate to say it but maybe there’s hope that it’s a geographical problem they can fix and not something fundamentally localized. I’m going to ask some friends and see if they’re having issues.
Everyone else, keep in mind that it’s still very early in the games lifetime – no excuse for Anet to put off looking into it, hint, hint, but with so much going on I think it’s only reasonable we put some effort into it ourselves. I’ll keep this thread informed of what I find.
I’m in New Orleans and since last night have been having AWFUL lag spikes. This morning, I downloaded the small patch, logged in, and now I’m getting the disconnect bug. What a bummer. Like all of you, this only happens with GW2.
Same issue as well. I can play any other online game with no disconnect issue but as soon as I try to play GW2 that error 7 will eventually pop up. I can disconnect 5 mins in or 20 mins. I have had stretches of play where I am constantly getting disconnected every 2 to 3 minutes. All of this started about 3 days ago. Prior to that I could play uninterrupted for 2 hours easily. Some acknowledgement that there is an issue would be much appreciated.
I just want to add my voice to the choir.
I am experiencing this exact same issue as well, on a 20 Mb/s cable connection. It has been getting me very frustrated as of late, since the game is virtually unplayable.
And I will have to dispel this hope of it being a geographical issue expressed above. I connect from Denmark, Europe, and interestingly, none of my friends living in the vicinity have the problem.
In terms of my personal experience, I only really seem to have problems during afternoons and evenings, where lots of other people are playing. Funny thing is, most of these “other people” (when asking around in map or guild chat) cannot relate to my issue. It puzzles me why an issue that on the surface seems server-load related is had on such an individual basis.
Kalvar and I seem to have problems which are more prevalent during certain times of the day – the same general time taking into account time zones. Can anyone else speak to this? And I agree it’s a strangely individual problem.
Another one here, 20 minutes west of Toronto. My friend who lives a few blocks away has the issue but its not as bad as me.
djaswal I’m in Bowmanville and I have a buddy in Oshawa. He has no d’c issues, yet I do. I was able to get an hour long gaming session in before it crapped out. Tried to do some more of my storyline and it dc’ed. However, I was able to do some large scale fights with heavy graphics (lvl 43 champion fights) and I had no issues, no lag, nothing… yet then randomly boom headshot I get dc’ed on trying to do my storyline.
My dc’s are not limited to storyline they happen at really any point in time. I’m at a much higher level than my friend, but that shouldn’t matter. He said he had problems on launch day with the same issue, but now hasn’t seen it crop up since a patch about a week ago.
I’m in the Good ole’ USA, getting dced in all sorts of random places, particularly when I go to map transfer.
Forgot to mention this but it’s probably generic behavior for a disconnect, but a few minutes before the severance, my chat stops updating and I can’t post. Yet I can still make progress and gain experience, even transfer maps. But like Mohawk says, when I do notice this and try to change maps or exit the overflow, it disconnects maybe 75% of the time. A couple of times I got disconnected after starting the client fresh, before my character loads in the world. At this point I’ve learned to just try again in 6 hours.
Trying to to sound like a prick, but were I in university or working, both of which I soon will be, I might be a bit more pissy. I know many of you probably count on gaming and the GW community to relax and socialize. Some people may even play with close friends or your partner. Not being dramatic, but I guess I’ve been left out of things enough in my life, and GW2 has been one of the more accepting ones. Please, Anet, don’t deny us of that. I can be patient, but for the sake of others… Sincerely

Thats exactly how it is for me too except that my chat sometimes updates but I cant send messages to chat.
same here sad fayce ;/
Surprisingly I’ve noticed that before my game crashes I cannot see anyone online in my guild. My guild list will show completely empty (although there are about 100ish people in it). Other times It’ll show people in it but it will show their locations as “unknown”. I do have a life, wife, kid, job.. but this is one means for me to relax and blow off steam and play with some buddies, but that is slowly dwindling with this ridiculous issue. I understand things take time. But why include a support forum when no arenanet employees check trending support related threads?
Help keep this issue on the front page and add additional comments if you find more bugs/issues that could be related to this error 7/3032 problem.
Another here with the same problem! Been happening to me for a while usually during the busiest hours of the day. Like you guys said, sometimes I can play for an hour, sometimes ten minutes. Gets frustrating when it happens five or six times in the same day and I have to find something else to do/play.
here is my dxdiag

you guys got it easy, i cant play for more than 30 seconds, stuck in the grove. TBH it crashes my whole system with a loud buzzing sound like a dubstep drop making me think that its a sound card/driver issue.
Sound buzzing and crashing doesn’t sound like the same issue…. maybe update your sound drivers and video drivers. Check in game settings also (if you can get that far) and see what your audio settings are… could potentially be where your issue lies if it’s trying to push your sound card too far.
agreed. I have updated all my firmware tho with no luck. This all started with the 9.7.2012 patch.
Djaswal and Hedgy, I can verify both of these…warnings. Sometimes my chat does update, I just can’t send.
When everything has been working for a while and it goes to crash, it shows everyone offline even though they’re using guild chat and I can hear them on mumble. (This happens without mumble too, fyi). If I start and there is an imminent disconnect right away – I am the only one in the guild. Once, a few people were in as well but they were listed as not representing. Interesting I think and hopefully it helps, but again it doesn’t seem like we’re any closer lol.
Keep calm and vigilant guys! If you happen to catch a break, ask your guild mates if they’ve had a similar problem and come to this thread!
Was able to play in harathi Highlands for about an hour without a crash (was in the northern part where you fight some champion bosses.) No a single dc.. go to the southern area and dc every 2 seconds. No idea. Not sure if the area is related to the dc or simply by chance, but again once it started there was no end in sight.. it would crash every >2mins.
I’ve been having a very similar connectivity problem. Each time i open the launcher, it will say “connection error(s) detected” Haven’t had any problems until 2 days ago so i guess it could be related to a patch.
i have had the exact same problems that people here have described, my game has been working perfectly all day since around 5pm today and now its constant disconnects, im a few minutes from toronto too, and in southern part of harathi highlands and cant play for more than a minute before i dc, i thought it was my own internet connection being bad but everything works perfectly fine and i only lose internet connection once i try to run gw2 otherwise i can run anything perfectly fine
I’m continually disconnecting between every five to ten minutes or longer if I’m really lucky. only started in the last two or three days now (Basically the weekend). It’s no longer playable for me. So sick of having to redo the same story quests over and over again because I’m getting disconnected so frequently that its rolling back to the start of the quest….
Completely unplayable all of today. Disconnected at character selection screen or at best before my character loaded in the world. I was able to create a new character, but it disconnected as it loaded. Don’t know if the character even stuck. The client can’t find the server. /sigh
I am in Texas and I am having the exact same problems. I have disabled my antivirus completely and disabled my firewall and malware protection completely. And STILL can’t play the game. I keep getting DC’d after 30 secs to 5 or 10 of 15 minutes regardless of where I am or what I am doing. I play all sorts of online games and have no issues with connectivity and have fiber at home so my internet is not the issue. I am soooooo frustrated.
I’m also in Texas. I have a brand new laptop and my game has been fine since launch. Me and my 2 sisters all play…and since the september 7th update my game has the random disconnecting issues and theirs doesn’t, so I have no idea what kind of problem this is…we’re all in the same house and even in the same room I have the DCs and my sister doesn’t..
At first it was just annoying but now, it’s getting hard to play tthrough any type of content…I’d really like to be able to play a game I payed for on my brand new computer.
Same, from Texas also around the Houston area. Keep dcing randomly, sometimes 3mins in or 20. It’s beyond annoying at this point.
I’m in the middle of downtown Toronto and I’m having the same issue of not being able to stay connected for more than a few seconds-minutes before disconnecting over and over. There seems to be a lot of issues with people in Ontario. Anyone else have Bell?
Rogers High Speed here, Sin.
Poogy, is it possible this all could be account related? I’m confused at your post. Do your sisters use (a) different computer(s). The reason I say it might be account related is that I’ve tried the game on my desktop as well as my laptop and the same thing happens. I haven’t had a friend try their account on my comp or vice versa… I dunno, just exploring possibilities
I still get Network Error and Client disconnect issues (7 and 3032) way too often. It’s to the point where I can’t even continue my story missions because they take me so long to finish (solo) that by the time I’m reaching the end I’ll likely disconnect. It happens once an hour on a good day, every 5-10 minutes on a bad day.
I’ve done the shortcut /port 80 and even the New auth to no avail.
Technical Support
Hey guys we are still currently looking into the error 7 issue. There is already a thread going concerning this issue in which we’re collecting information for further investigation: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/error-code-7-11-3-189-101/page/6#post76501
Zaith,
I’m honestly not sure, that’s the problem lol. I have no idea what kind of problem it is. One sister has a macbook and plays on parallels, her game is fine and the other has a Dell (which is what I also have) but it’s an older model and she is fine too. It probably is something account based…I don’t know. I’m glad someone is finally looking into it because I thought it was fine but today, it’s back to the DCs.
This problem needs to be addressed above any other fix’s involving graphics and what not, how are you supposed to even play a game that cant keep people logged in ? so please ignore graphics glitches and unimportant fixes to address this issue first k thanks bye .
I am not getting an error 7. I am getting a 3032:1002:3:3939:101 Network error after I’m already in the game for several minutes. I can’t play longer than a few minutes at a time without getting disconnected with this error. I’ve forwarded the appropriate ports and tried the port 80 shortcut trick, but no luck.
I am having the same issues, UK here. Sometimes it just crashes to a black screen and an error code, other times it will stutter, my attacks with just flash then I’m Internet gets frozen, only happens when playing guild wars 2. Swtor did the same thing so I’m hoping its just a glitch they’re going to fix
cool so i’m still having the same problems except now i can’t even log in without disconnecting (sometimes disconnecting me from the internet entirely). right on.
I started getting this problem today 12/10/12
Network connection error.
3032:1002:3:4350:101
Never ahd this problem before and other MMO game I ahve run fine.I can last 1min -20min before I get disconnected
Not sure if this is coincidence a few hours before playing on my desktop as usual I played on my laptop from a mates place and had the email notification to allow me to playwhich I accepted then when I got home and played on the desktop this problem started happening
As per my post Constant Disconnects I am experiencing the same issues.
For those people responding from near Toronto, I also am in Ontario but I reside in Ottawa. Is it possibly our ISP causing the problem? I’m with Rogers (Ultimate, their highest residential option, which is 150mbps) and have tried playing on Bell’s ADSL and Cogeco’s cable and haven’t had an issue, which leads me to believe it’s a fault on Roger’s end.
Could this have some sort of tie-in with the packet shaping (read: filtering) technology that they use to limit torrent usage? (There was a similar problem with WoW a few years back, albeit it dealt with Blizzard’s updating software)
Just a couple of thoughts.
Same problems here. Bought the game yesterday, just started tonight. My network connection isn’t dropping as I’ve tested having a live stream going while I keep getting disconnected from the game and there hasn’t been a hiccup. Living in Ottawa here, Rogers. Yesterday was fine but today I can’t seem to play more than literally 5 minutes and it drops again and I can’t reconnect for a couple minutes after. I managed to get a warrior to almost level 10 yesterday but today I am struggling to get a Mesmer passed level 2 because of this issue.
Same issue here. In Ottawa with a Rogers account has been extremely unstable the whole afternoon and evening. All other sites work well except guildwars2.com and the game client.
Same here as well as the girlfriend, we are in Ottawa.
Seems to be a growing theme… Anyone else on Rogers have the same issue? Toronto perhaps?
Just south of Toronto here, also on Rogers.
Disconnects started around 6:30pm last night…..every 15 minutes to start…then went down to every 5 or so. Gave up after the 9th DC.
I log in and can play for up to about 5 minutes, then BAM!
‘Network error.
(Code=3032:1002:3:4350:101)’
This started yesterday I think and cant seem to fix it.
Tried the /clientport 80 in the target line thing.
Forwarded the relevant ports.
No antiviruses running in background.
Internet works fine for everything else.
I live in EU so I don’t think I’m having the problem you guys seem to be having with ISPs in NA.
Same issue here as well, started happening yesterday (Oct 14) at 2pm. Rogers network – also in Ottawa. Whenever I would get disconnected from the game, I would also not be able to access the GW2 support page. Disconnects started out very spaced out but by 9pm the disconnects happened within 5 minutes of logging in.
Update:
Still having problems. Now I’m getting the (Code=7:11:3:189:101) error, still getting DCed every 5ish minutes.
I live in England and my ISP is Virgin Media.
Also on a possibly unrelated note, sometimes when I do get disconnected from GW2, my whole internet goes down too for a few minutes. I’m almost 100% sure its not my internet connection or anything wrong on my end as this only happens with GW2.
