Constant Disconnetcting
I have this as well though not as frequent. Only happens on the OS X side, if I Bootcamp and play it’s rock solid.
Yes I’ve been having the same issue. Thought it was my crappy home router at first until I tried tabbing out to my internet browser when the connection issues occurred in game. I could still browse the internet fine but I keep having to restart the GW client every time I want to reconnect.
Insanely annoying seeing as I’m finally trying to get into dungeon running and PvP which are both dependent on the connection not dropping out.
Also, sometimes the connection isn’t severed completely, but rather the game just lags a moment, stacks a cue of all the commands I input (I’m guessing), and then when it picks back up I see a flash of all the battle stats computed over the time I was lagged out. It’s bearable in world PvE but pretty much ruins gameplay in any other situation.

I am having the same problem with the game disconnecting. Mine doesn’t last for a 10 mins and I am on a great connection to the internet. It wasn’t until the patch that I started to get these problems. I can’t even play the game anymore.
Same problem here but on both a separate PC and Imac over a home wi-fi connection … though my 2nd Imac at work continues with no problems (so far) whilst connected on a wi-fi dongle … this problem has been going on for weeks! And sadly I’m getting a little tired of it.
I started experiencing this as well. However, it only seems to occur on Wi-Fi.
During the evening I would crawl into bed with my wife, turn down the lights and… fire up some GW2 (because that’s what you do post 30 when you’re married I guess).
Anyway, she would run great and have 0 issues and I would disconnect every 5-15 minutes. As my desk is in the same room, I simply hooked it in via Ethernet and haven’t disconnected since.
So I would strongly encourage attempting to plug in to see if that is your issue. (and yes, I could browse the internet fine and all that jazz on Wi-Fi).
Well, if this benefits anyone … I had continual problems with disconnections (see above) and I tried everything GW2 suggested inc. forums and had my ISP check their side which came back ok, fiddled with the router etc. … I thought my mac may be too low spec (2006) but in the end brought home my dongle (3 network) where it was running fine on my work computer and duly worked fine on my home mac … so it seems my problem probably lies with the router – a Belkin F5D8633-4 – a quick google and it looks like a common problem. Plus Belkin haven’t updated the firmware since 2008! … I now plan to either buy or try a new router … if that fails I’ll try getting a BT line test.
BTW the game runs fine on 2006 Imac – lowest graphics settings and can get down to a few fps when lots happening but generally running well at about 25-30 fps.
Huh, I wonder if that is the common thread. I have a Netgear though…
Negative. I have the Apple Airport and it only occurs when my wife and I are playing GW2 on the Wi-Fi together at the same time. If she’s not playing, I can Wi-Fi play all day long.
I noticed something odd which I don’t really think is a fix at all but it’s definitely interesting. So normally I run a program called DNSCrypt which is just like it sounds Encrypted DNS. I always run this program (I’m a Security Analyst by profession) but tonight I decided to turn it off after getting disconnected once. I played solid all night using unencrypted DNS from my ISP. Like I said, not the fix and probably not related but odd and interesting.
