Constant Lag spikes
Getting this tonight too. And the website seems to be a little less responsive too.
Same problem here, skills are taking a while to trigger at times.
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.

I never get lag, until tonight. Several guildies same issue. AG.
It seems less like lag spikes and more a constant higher ping.
It’s up around 300 now.
Never had this problem before but I am experiencing it for like 2 hours too.
My internet is fine and it is only in GW2.
k glad it wasn’t just me , in PVP I cant even load the servers on the game browser
(edited by Greyfur.1082)
some guildies having the same issue
I am also having this issue as of logging on today. Last night game was running normal until I logged off and as soon as I logged in today have been noticing intermittent lag spikes and a higher latency than usual.
On Fort Aspenwood server
WTFast solved the problem for now, so it must be route issues.
yep pvp is LAG!
net neutrality?
All day the game has been unplayable. 10+ second skill lags, random crashes, sometimes with error code, sometimes not. Last error code was 7:11:3:191:101
This started happening when I logged in this morning around 10 am EST. I did several ping tests to approved pingtest sites and my ping was maxing around 89 with zero packet loss and only 2 ms jitter. The website has alos been exceptionally laggy, it took a good 30 seconds for this reply form to pop up. I’ve tried playing other games (even some that are known for high latency issues like Warframe and various others) and my ping on them was just fine. Soon as I try GW2, lag spikes are back.

~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…
I’ve been having terrible lag spikes & delays all of today- Hopefully the new build will fix it. It’s almost unmanagable
Still getting INCREDIBLE lag after the patch. I have had it all day non-stop. I was trying to do some living story achievements and they were next to impossible. I just did tequatl and the launch pads only launched me halfway before dropping me out of the sky and that was after spamming to use it for a full 30 seconds. I don’t know what helps to fix it but here is a VOD of my tequatl so you can see the lag in action → http://www.twitch.tv/etybagignh/b/630126425
I also did several tracerts to my tequatl IP so I’ll post those, not sure if that helps either but I figure it can’t hurt:

Logged in about an hour ago to grab the daily and then logged right out planning to come back later. Logged in twenty minutes ago to find the game completely unplayable because of constant lag, skills takes one to five seconds to trigger, and using a skill with a leap attribute (in this case Heartseeker) causes stuttering and position resets after moving less than a foot. I’ve done a few internet speed tests and they’re regular, I’ve played a few other games and they’re just fine, the only game I’m getting any problem out of is GW2 and its just so sudden.
I have been logging in and out today… The game is unplayable at this point, skill lag is unbearable, there is no way to dodge anything.
Anyother game, or content I can stream with no issues, even the forum site was taking a few extra seconds loading up pages…
I’m done for the day, it’s just a sham arena net has not said they are addressing the issue!
I’m still having these horrible lag spikes— it makes gw2 unplayable- so I’ll keep checking to see when anet will fix this issue, otherwise there is literally nothing I can do. It’s weird because it just started today.
I’ve been having similar lag troubles since I logged in today. All skills have a ~0.5 second delay in both the PvP lobby and matches (makes it pretty unplayable), as does chat. Jumping, dodging, and other actions work fine for the moment. Jumped over to LA to check there, and it’s the same delay.
I rarely have skill lag like this in GW2, except for extremely large fights in WvW.
Several guildies of mine have been reporting even worse skill lag since I’ve taken notice, and other games have been working perfectly all day.
Please fix this soon!

Same, I just want to play the game.
What third party “solutions” do we have available? (preferably free options…)
Since we don’t have a NA thread for latency/lag like the EU, will leave the info here:
Have been lagging horribly since 1h or so before the patch release.

I would like to point out that I tried my EU account too, and I have zero lag there, meaning the NA servers have some congestion in the routing or something. Were it something on my end or a problem with my ISP, my EU account would be affected as well. However, that is not the case. only my NA one has the lag.

unplayable from australia tonight
unplayable from australia tonight
2nd That seems fine till about 9pm AEST, been getting this since the new years patch, for the last few weeks basically stopped playing after 9-10pm due to the lag spikes.
mmk, I actually got wireless internet, so there’s always been tiny bits of lag for me here and there.
But since ~3 days, I’ve been expierencing disconnections to the Character screen (after which I can just happily hit the “play” button again and comfortably log back into the game) and drops in FPS that lead to a complete either a complete standstill of myself and (N)PC’s, or a few seconds where I move, and the rest around me moves into a straight line until they crash into something (at which point I realise I’ve been lagging for several seconds allready…)
Game’s quite unplayable for me in this current state
It seems to be back. Small amount of packet loss to the server (less than 5%) could be the issue.
Started again around the same time. 2pm EST maybe it’s something with my ISP and gw2
Totally unplayable. People running off in opposite directions and then I DC again and again and again. It is 4 am there are maybe 20 people in the BL. I should not have this kind of lag.
I just want to WvW! :*(

i just had to logout. I was doing shadow behemoth, and all the sudden, EVERYTHING was unresponsive.
Same problem here. Was in Edge of the Mists and everyone started running off in different directions. Every now and then it come right again, but then about 30 seconds later I got an error message after it kicked me to the character select page. Been happening to me the last few hours now, getting REALLY annoying.
So does any one have any ideas/solutions? I was posting in another thread that I cannot find anymore but I have had this problem many times as well for weeks. After going through Anets suggestion of running GameAdvisor, then running PingPlotter we are no closer to a solution. Their explanation is I have packet loss despite Trace Routes and Ping Plotters (which basically IS just a trace route) report showing none. So they have either given up because they are stumped or are just told to tell us that when they dont care anymore.
It is completely random for me personally, its fine one hour then suddenly all hell breaks loose and Im either lagging incredibly bad or cant connect or even login sometimes. I have an excellent ping to the servers, even during times I cant connect to the game. The frustrating thing is not knowing when it will strike as I cant be counted on to make any contributions to my guild when ‘ToKev might DC at any time’ as happened last sunday for guild missions and I couldnt connect for at least 8 hours. wake up net morning, do nothing to my computer at all and boom I can connect and play…
ArenaNet seems to know about the problem but can’t/won’t solve it. I’ve heard using a tunneling service can alleviate the symptoms but using VPN/proxys carries inherent risk (like all the people innocently banned for gold selling because their accounts were linked to actual gold sellers thanks to IPs of proxy VPNs).
I logged in at a different location, on a better computer and different internet provider. The lag is just as bad as at my location. PvP game browse won’t load in either location.
well I was playing for 4 hours with no issues on primetime now and suddenly started getting hit by lag spikes to the point the even my tp wont load. This started at 8:50 pm hardly prime time, so I cant blame ISP.

EDIT: I can only say the anet is having server issues, which seems to be affecting me and a few people in my guild and yet not everyone. Wonder what really is happening since this issue has been happening to different people through the pass 2 weeks.
(edited by whisper.1627)
Yup, same here, Whisper.1627. About 20 to 30 minutes ago, I started getting serious skill lag and rubberbanding in WvW. It’s been pretty fine all weekend for me until the last 1/2 hour. 300-400ms latency.
Dear Anet,
Seeing as you will no longer allow me to participate in the Tequatl event and DC me everytime, I would appreciate compensation in the form of 2 gold deposited into my account everyday with an occasional exotic. Thank you in advance, will be looking for it (seriously, this or fix the $#& problem you keep denying exists)

Game mysteriously back to running fine tonight. Support suggested running the game through port 80, but before I did that I tested it tonight and it’s good (for me).
how do you do port 80?
From support:
- Locate the file “GW2.exe” and right-click it, selecting “Create Shortcut.”
- Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
- Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
- Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end. Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes. — Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80 — Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
- Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes. If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try Step 4 again.
- Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.
Thank you, dace. Will try it out
