Constant attempts to hack
One person with poor personal security does not equal a data breach. I would recommend you not reuse passwords from other games, not download naughty files with hidden key loggers, and get yourself a good anti-virus program.
You asked ArenaNet to fix what you think is poor security, but I’m asking you to fix your security leaks.
It’s very easy to find free lists of user names and passwords that are used at forum sites, sites with weak or no security, etc. These are usually sites run by one or two people on a part-time volunteer basis, people who don’t know how to ensure security or don’t think it’s worth the effort.
Those sites are compromised due to their poor security. User lists (with passwords) are obtained and then used at hundreds of other bigger, well-known sites, such as GW2.
The most likely scenario is your user name and password was on one of those many freely available lists, and you re-used the credentials for GW2. Many people do this.
Change your password to something you don’t use anywhere else and something that isn’t easily guessed, and you’ll stop getting emails. Problem solved.
These attempts to hack are done by people who have your username and password (only then you get an authorisation request). This is not cause anet has a bad security, but cause of you. If changing your password doesn’t help you, you should review your security, cause it means they are in your computer.
Anet is secure but you are not.

If it was ANet’s security that was the problem then there would be a flood of people on the forum with complaints about security breaches. Not the trickle we see here. This indicates the problem is on your side, not theirs.
These people have both you email and your password. You need to change both.
You should make another security sweep of your computer, being sure to check for keyloggers. Then get a new, unique email. After you have that done that you should go to support at the top of the page and then go to "ask a question’. From there you should change your email. You should also change your password to something not used at any other site.
If you change both your email and password to one not used at any other site and you still get this, this means you have a keylogger and need to get rid of them

The Texas IP, I had it too, twice now, is NC Interactive itself. So either the game didn’t logout properly (I was parked for a couple of hours doing TP stuff before logging) or they “locked” the account for so database modification issue so we wouldn’t butt heads.
RIP City of Heroes
Your account was compromised on the 5-18, 5-23, 6-22, and 9-13, and the person from BC has been logging into your account since 3-8. There have been no logins to your account from Texas.
Needless to say the security compromise is on your end. Most likely whoever you purchased your game from was not reputable (thus compromising your serial code), or at one time your email was compromised and the serial code was taken from that. I would suggest contacting Customer Support to get your Serial Code changed. If you do decide you want to come back, I would highly suggest adding an authenticator.

Well I am curious as to why my account is “logged in” by someone within your IP block NC Interactive.

Behellagh, Advise has been given on this website. Either you bought the game from an untrusthy source or you have a serieus problem. The person behind it might only be interested in your gw2 account, but also has access to everything you do online. This include online banking and creditcard payments. I suggest you ask for help instead of denial of your serious problem. Support has offered you to help so I would strongly to start a support ticket instead of complaining here.
If you don’t believe me or Arenanet here, please get some good outside help with your computer, cause I am serious that you need help with this!!
And the IP adress is from the GW2 server in Texas. It is confirmed it comes in the listing cause of a glitch. prolly cause the hacker didn’t log your account out properly.
Please leave your tin foil hat off. There are no aliens in your home but real life burglars. Your offered help and I beg you to accept it or get your own!!

Like I said I’m just curious is all. I haven’t had anything gone missing, no characters deleted or have anything on my account profile modified or banned as a RMT, etc.
I’m just addressing the the OP that I too have seen my account logged in from TX, and exactly at the same time as I log into the forum. I’m betting that entry use to be screened out before so we didn’t see it at all.
RIP City of Heroes
Sorry, I thought you where the OP.
But like said, it is just a glitch.

Ok, I can confirm I got this too.
Now 2 things have either happened.
1. We both got hacked by the same person.
2. A glitch caused by the gw2 server.
Most likely #2, considering whoever it was logged in at the EXACT same time I did. So yea, most likely the server.
How about changing your password to something you’re not using for 10 years on some of the known compromised websites (linkedin, twitch, sony, random boards, … endless list really)
Unique password per account, change regularely ESPECIALLY if people log in often. This is your problem, not a.nets.

While I agree that the security breach is probably on the OP’s end, I don’t think it’s helpful to make blanket assumptions about his/her password. Especially since s/he already said s/he is changing it.
When you log into the forums it will display a login from Texas occasionally due to the connection that needs to be made to tie the forums and the login servers. This is not a bug, and not an account hijack attempt.
Thank you Chris.

I bet the Texas IP is the NSA spying on your GW2 communications and/or tracking your IP using the GW2 account.

Good to know. I saw this the other day and I thought something fishy was going on.
