Constant disconnecting!!
i have this issue too i found out alot of other players started haveing the issue right after the new content was out :/
After this latest patch, I’m suddenly getting disconnected a lot. Once whilst standing in LA, another time when walking through an asura gate, and now again after having entered a personal story mission. I lose connection and the game gets stuck on a white screen. According to my task manager, the game is still running…
Same disconnecting issue. However, last night it was my wife’s computer disconnecting and I was fine. Tonight it is my computer (round 3 now) disconnecting and she is playing just fine. Is there some kind of bottlenecking with this last update? Because, it is not working.It would be a major drag if I can’t play the game in the same house with my spouse.
I’m having the same problem. Every other game and program I have is fine, but after 30 minutes of playing GW2 I start getting disconnected (from all internet, mumble disconnects too). It reconnects immediately, but it’s long enough for GW to kick me out. Nothing I’ve tried has been able to fix it.
Same. I wont get sent to the character select as much but I do get constant latency sometimes and blips of disconnection where I’m able to move yet everyone is running into the walls and skills are unusable. Then if it doesn’t fully disconnect me, it comes back to normal but everything that happened in that window of time happens all at once to catch up. Its absolutely ridiculous in dungeons and even more of a pain in pvp. This never used to happen until the recent patches.
i traced my disconnects to sweden, where the connection to the gw2 servers gets severed for a few minutes quite often. tele2 there seems to have technical problems.
(other programs don’t have data loss because they use a different connection rout.)
try this:
Start > Run…
type in: cmd
press Enter
type in: tracert 64.25.47.122
press Enter
this will show you the rout your game data takes in order to reach the gw2 servers. should one of those servers be tele2, it’s quite certain you have the same problem as i have.
in any case, use the program ‘pingplotter’ to log your internet connection while playing. that’s how you can find out where your connection is being severed, then send the log with your disconnects to tech support of your internet provider, they have to ‘request’ whatever other service-provider causes your disconnects to fix the problem.
