Guild Wars 2

Hi guys,

I am experiencing lockups, these can last a few seconds to a few minutes. The game stops responding and I hit alt tab to make it respond again as it will window a few moments later, but after being tabbed back in the issue pops up within a few minutes.

If I do not alt tab then the computer screen goes black for a moment then goes back into the game, there are no signs of driver crashes & at that point it effects the responsiveness of my entire system.

DXDIAG is enclosed, there are no crash reports in my GW2 Documents folder unfortunately.

No heat issues or anything of the sorts experienced, I am at a huge loss of possibilities.

This might be a long shot but have you tried limiting your Frame Rate ingame to 60?

Unfortunately, I don’t see any potential issues from your DirectX Diagnostics.
I’m going to recommend some suggestions (these fixed lockups on another game, similar to GW2).

First, some common fixes:
1. Run Guild Wars 2 in Administrator mode.
2. Update your drivers from your Manufacturer’s website.
3. Check to see if any of your hardware is overheating, and that if your fan’s operating at suggested speeds.

Some in-game fixes:
1. Enable/disable vertical sync.
2. Limit your frames to 60.

Some outside fixes:
1. Disable overlay programs. These include Xfire, Mumble, etc.
2. Add Guild Wars 2 to your exceptions on your anti-virus/security programs.
3. Run a Windows Memory Diagnostic to see if there are any potential problems with your system’s memory.
4. Run a malware scan, just to be sure!

1) UAC is disabled
2) On Latest non-beta drivers (12.8)
3) GPU, CPU, HDDs & SSD all good temps.

In-game
1) Vertical sync enabled
2) Frames limited to 60 already

Outside fixed
1) There are none
2) No antivirus (only MSE) already added
3) Will do next reboot
4) No malware at the moment luckly.
