Hello. I own multiple accounts on Guild Wars 2 so I often will log into all of them in a row in order to get my login rewards and try to get a few basic things done like dailies on each account.

That said, lately, I’ve had to repair my game client every single time I log out. This problem has persisted across many Tuesday content patches, I would estimate it to be happening now for about a month and a half. I’ve noticed I only have two options now when I want to switch accounts, or even just relaunch the game client with the same account after closing or crashing.

1. Restart entire computer.
2. Repair data archive.

Do I need a complete reinstall? Anyone else run into this issue? Hopefully somebody can help.

I’ve received that message a few times recently, but I just choose the ‘No’ option, as -repair just hangs.

My client runs just fine without accepting the -repair. I think it’s a bug; I’ve had it a few times in the past.

Just incase its a bad sector or something with hd – what I do if I have any probs is the following -
1. rename gw2.dat gw2.bak
2. start gw2 and download the files or use the -image command
3. delete gw2.bak
reason I rename instead of deleting is because if its deleted first theres a possibility the data will go in same place and if theres a bad sector on hd you`re going to have the same problem , if you keep it then new dat file data wont be in same place .
Run a few hd diagnostics an defrag when needed.

There’s no need to redownload the entirety of Gw2.dat. Simply make a copy of Gw2.dat. If you hard drive has a problem, it will fail to fully copy or crash since it cannot be read.

To simply scan the drive, open Computer, right click the drive and select properties. Select the tools tab, then error checking.
