Guild Wars 2

So as of just now, my Guild Wars 2 directory, which happens to be in My Documents, is now corrupt, which means I can’t run Guild Wars 2.

I’ve got it in my Steam list, so I can chat to friends within the game and I haven’t had any problems with that, yesterday though I was playing around the Hinterlands and I happened to fall through the map, so I’m thinking that this glitch may have had some influence, But I even load up the log in for the game, and it’s telling me to run chkdsk because my computer can’t access, read or open the files assosiated with Guild Wars.

Is there any help I can get to solve this problem? or will I need to do a hard re-install of the whole game, and If I have to do that, what will happen to my characters and progress?

chkdsk the affected drive to clear up any corrupt pte’s and indices then delete the affected folder and start the client again to recreate the local profile data.
