Hey guys! So I have a bad computer. (My friend gifted me this game.)

I tried to set all my graphics down to minimum, but I still get a whopping 5-10 FPS.

Is there any way to sap more from my computer to get it to a decent 25 FPS?

Computer Specs:

RAM 4 GB
CPU/Processor 1.40 GHz
System 64-bit Windows 7. Service Pack 1

(I do realize the problem is my processor. However I am unable to upgrade it since it’ll require me to upgrade my motherboard as well. And I don’t know much about computer’s hardware.)

Thanks ahead of time!

I have a kittenty computer also. was getting about 25 fps. was playable. now as of yesterday, with the new patch, i barely get 5. It’s a known problem. Look around on the forums and you will see a lot of people with the same problem.

When I had OEM 2-$400 laptops before my build I done the following

  • Turn the eye candy off. (classic version)
  • Disable everything including firewall (useless if you’re just gaming)
  • Turn the mouse pointer to standard large
  • run windows updates
  • Try to run updates for sound/graphics ect from vendors before using windows version
  • Run the game in window mode
  • Turn off shadows/view … play with the settings sometimes can have some high settings
  • Turn your power setting to Performance
  • If you don’t have a stand place something under the top lip to lift it up some so the heat can escape better then just having it flat on the desk ( make sure what ever it is it’s not covering the vents.

Google up some searches for your OEM branded pc/bios and find some tweaks to get some lockable performance unlocked.

None of that makes any difference when the game is bugged.

Thanks! I’ll be sure to give it a shot.
Since I’m running on a tower I don’t have the option to set the power to Performance.
I have no clue what Eyecandy is.
What would changing the mouse pointer do?
Doesn’t the game run faster when it’s in Full Screen mode? (Less GUI to worry about.)

But I’ll be sure to try all of this.

I looked and it seems like it’s an EU problem and not NA. If I recall correctly, they run on different patches.

Eye candy like shadows thumbnails in taskbar ect.. You can change this to go into classic windows mode theme. and Control Panel\System and Security\System click on advance in the performance section click on settings and check box adjust for best performance.. the mouse option just disables the shadow and rotation loading circle.

Ok, when I looked at the tickets earlier all I was seeing was from the EU, if it’s happening in NA as well, then it may just well be that.

I have done all that you asked, and my FPS neither increased nor decreased.

You cannot do magic. If your pc is crap, you’ll have crappy fps no matter what.

Btw, which cpu do you have?

Download a program called Speccy and screenshot the main window and attach it to the forum. It will tell us what is in your system.

Once again, it’s a UI bug introduced with the patch that is causing low fps for a lot of people. Even on decent computers.

Even when I disable the UI, the game is still laggy. The UI only causes low FPS for certain people, as fellow guild members have noted that they are not experiencing this.

While I will agree that this is a possibility I find it unlikely since I experienced no change in the patch.

While I already stated my CPU is 1.4 GHz. Here’s the stats.

its your notebook, or rather your netbook. Here is what you actually have

E-1200 APU @1.4ghz
HD7310M (integrated on the APU) with 25MB of vRAM (pulled from system ram)

Basically you are running a system that should be compared to a tablet. And since its on AMD’s Compute (CPU) its going to be weaker then current Intel Baytrail Atom CPUs for performance.

I have one of the better Baytrail (Z3745) and I can get 30FPS on Low at 1024×768 for GW2. I expect you to get much much less than that.

I’m afraid all you can do is deal with it as is, or replace that netbook for something better.

I laugh at how you called it a netbook. xD it’s a crappy tower computer I bought for about 100 bucks because my last laptop was dying.

I do realize that it was my processor that was struggling, I was asking for a way to sap any more processing power to increase my FPS, as I have stated at the beginning.

While I do thank you for pointing out that it’s comparable to a tablet (which I find hilarious that I would buy such a crappy computer.) I’ll just have to replace it at a later date when I get a form of income.

Thank you all for your help!

It’s the whole pc choking struggling not only the cpu. Only thing you could now is to save up some money to invest in a better platform like a decent i5. The one you are using is a single core 6 years old cpu, it can’t do much for this game given the 300-400$ CPUs are still struggling

This is why I call it a netbook

The AMD Radeon HD 7310 (or perhaps also called ATI Mobility Radeon HD 7310) is an integrated graphics card in the 2nd generation Zacate netbook processor. It is based on the same graphics core as the Radeon HD 6310, the clock speed is identical as well. Furthermore, it features the UVD3 video processor.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-7310.70634.0.html

That is the GPU that is found in your tower. its found in low power APU’s from AMD. The same APUs that are used in netbooks.

there is no fixing this, unless you are lucky and running a Socketed CPU (FM2 or FM2+ Hopefully) then you could upgrade the APU.

Sorry man, 1.4Ghz is going to be simply terrible for this game (and most games). It doesn’t help that your GPU is bad as well.
