Crash -> MainCli.cpp
Check your RAM with some testing program like Memtest.
memtest said no problems
File 0×663c stream 0×0 is corrupt
Raw file 0×0000663c:0×0000663c has CRC 0×99afce65.
This is interesting.
Do you get the same file offset in ArenaNet.log every time it crashes? How about between repairs/reinstalls?
EDIT: actually there are multiple events in the log. Different files each time:
File 0×6649 stream 0×0 is corrupt
Raw file 0×00006649:0×00006649 has CRC 0xdb18e5f5.
Try some disk diagnostics? I remember way back, my motherboard was starting to fail. If I had DMA mode on, occasionally on large file transfers I would get silent data corruption. Turns out my drive controller was going dodgy.
Also, how long / how many passes did you let memtest run? Did you use this one, or the old one?
I ask this as you’d only see the problem in a pass or two if you got “lucky” or if you had severe problems – and at that point Windows would be crash-happy too.
If you’re only getting it with large file operations such as installing/repairing GW2.dat, this seems like a less common failure – eg, that memory address might only act up about 2% of the time.
Last EDIT: heat or EMI could also be a problem too. Machine running hot? Is it on a UPS? Any heavy machines or appliances on the same circuit? Radio operator next door?

memtest runs about 1hour (80%~) checked
i got this problem every time i travel into WvW or some cities like Divinitys Reach Rata Sum and sometimes at normal areas
yep. its annoying
memtest runs about 1hour (80%~) checked
Not enough by far. You should let it run for at least one pass, preferably at least 2. Let it run overnight is my suggestion.
ok ill do it tonight
i allready did it, let memtest finish completely. no errors
Out of curiosity, if you run with -repair, what results do you get in your VerifyResults.log file found in /Documents/Guild Wars 2? All of my repairs seem to fail, so I’m going to try to reinstall later when I have time.

Well there was definitely something wrong. Why it keeps recurring though…?
Having the same problem as are many others. I really doubt this is hardware failure.
Getting the same error every once and a while.
My specs :
Intel i7 3770k
Palit GTX 670
16 GB RAM DDR3 1600 MGhz
OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
For those who are encountering this issue, here’s what would be super helpful:
Run a memory diagnostic such as MemTest86 (make sure it’s thorough; some memory-errors are fleeting and require sustained use or special conditions). If you’ve already done an extensive test of your memory, I apologize for restating this request here!
If the memory diagnostic shows errors, post here saying so! After that, I suggest contacting your manufacturer. = )
If no errors are found, then please open the “Guild Wars 2” folder inside of your Documents folder. You should see one or many files with names similar to “Corrupt-ab48d7ad.dat”. Attach some of those to a post here; if you have many, just pick a few. Also, please attach the file “CorruptArchive.log”, which will be in that same folder.
There’s a good chance that there’ll be too many responses for me to personally
examine all of the files, so I apologize in advance if I don’t personally respond to your post. = (
cant upload .dat files :s ?

Yeah, I just learned that too. = \
Can you fool it by changing the extension to .jpg or something like that?
No need to go change file extensions if you can just put in an archive right.

I crash every 5 minutes with the MainCli.pp error. It feels like real torture. This does not happen with any other game. Any suggestions?
hm no answer …
I have a support ticket open, everything attached they asked for and then some. waiting on a response. Im on a q6700 core2quad, 8GB 1066DDR2, 500GB internal HD. 9600GT gpu, EVGA 780i FTW motherboard. Compare

Odd, I don’t see any archive type on the unaccepted list at support. Then again neither do I see .dat in the list.
You don’t need a program to change the extension. You need to first make sure you can see known extensions, otherwise windows hides them. You can do this in folder options. Open the “Control Panel”, go to “Appearance and Personalization”, then click on “Folder Options” and go to the “View” tab. In that list you have to uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types”
Now that you have done this you can simply change the “.dat” at the end of the filename to “.jpg”
Support email address is “support@guildwars2.com” but don’t know if they will actually accept anything that isn’t sent by the game itself or the support form on the site. You could always try of course.
edit: how to unhide the file extension should be the same for vista and onwards, but folder options might be located elsewhere on xp. I can’t recall, too long ago :P
Seems the good Paul Marden is our only link to Ncsoft right now. We can’t upload the currupt dat files. Is this a memory error on certain memory configs perhaps?
I’ve got something in the works to allow me to obtain these Corrupt-*.dat files from you guys. No ETA, unfortunately. = \
hm okay so atm noone can help us
