Crash after Crash after Crash!
Hello,
I have been having problems with this game since.. May. I have been playing since release and never experienced problems but at the moment my game crashes a lot. It does not happen when my fps drops or anything but just at random moments.
This is what I did so far:
- Update Drivers
- Update DirectX
- Reboot multiple times
- Reinstall
- Opened Support ticket, nothing that worked.
- Repair the Client with the ‘-repair’ command.
- Removed any unwanted startup programs that might stopped it.
- Went into NVIDIA control panel and changed settings, did nothing.
- Did not use overclocking AT ALL
- Checked Overheating, was no problem + RAM/CPU Usage wasn’t high.
- Ran in ADMIN Mode, changed nothing.Specs (Laptop):
Intel Core I5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHZ
NVIDIA Geforce 540M
4.00 GB RAMI added the Arenanet file.
Please, what is there to do?
You can check to see if your hard drive is failing by performing a disk check. To perform a disk check, you simply go to ‘My Computer’ and right click on the hard drive that has Guild Wars 2 on it. Then, click properties and a new window opens up. In the new window, go to the ‘Tools’ tab and click the ‘Check now…’ button.
Also, in your crash logs, you don’t have a crash newer than May 8th, 2013.

It’s because I have been deleting the ‘corrupted’ files over and over again because I thought they would cause more harm than good.
I will try and check if my disk is working correctly but I don’t think it will find any problems since I do things like those a lot.

Have you tried running game advisor yet to see if it pops any issues?
http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor
Sometimes it helps diagnose.
When you say “deleting the corrupted files,” what do you mean? Which files are you deleting? Corrupted files in your gw2 folder generated by the game?
Make sure your windows is fully up to date (including optional files).
But if nothing works, it does sound like a failing piece of hardware.
Post back with updates when you can.
Windows XP 64 bit…really? Wow.
Anyway, please post the Game Adviser report when you can.

I added a screenshot showing you the corrupted data files I keep deleting because it fills the folder completely when it crashes like 2-3 times a day.
My Windows is fully up to date, it is downloading and installing the patches whenever there is anything available.
I think it can’t be my hardware because this is the only game that crashes, every other game I played from BF3 to Need For Speed never ever crashed and I played those games for a long time.
I will run a diskcheck now, Ill keep you posted.
Is your direct x fully up to date?
Definitely keep us posted, but if your disk check comes back clean, please run the game advisor listed above and post that, someone might see a conflict with software or something.
