Hi everyone, I need a bit of help from you.

The last time I played the game was about 2 weeks ago. Two days ago, I tried to play, downloaded the patch files, launched… and then I got a Fatal Error Windows message seconds after the character selection screen finished loading. I tried to run a shortcut with -repair extension, but upon loading the character selection page, the game crashed again.

The error message is attached in the text file.

Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong? (I know the log says it’s the lack of a dual core, but if that is so, why has the game run without problems before?)

I hate to tell you this but I’m surprised the game ever ran on those specs looks like you need a new PC at least a new video card. Recent changes in the game has made it impossible to run the game on older lower end PCs.

Sorry for replying under a different name, for some reason I cannot log in to the forum right now. Are you sure this can be the only answer? Low-end as my computer might be, the game was not even lagging or playing at low FPS last time I managed to log in.

Well they eliminated culling in the game, what this means I the game limited the number of players you could see from the point in the world you were at, giving you better performance. The culling system was flawed half the time you couldn’t see some of the people you were playing with unless they were in your party. So by default. They turn off culling. This upped the system requirement to run the game. I think you can go into setting and turn culling back on, but in your case you can’t get into the game what you might try is to delete the local.dat file and run the game this should force the game to restart at the minimum setting your PC can handle. if that doesn’t work see if a friend or family member has a higher end computer than you install the game on that PC. Then set all the graphic setting to the lowest. Copy the local. dat file to a flash drive and replace it with the same file on your PC what this will do is reset your setting and should allow you to get back into the game, not sure this will work but it’s worth a try.

This appears to be the problem:

“Below min spec: Failed dual core or greater check. 1 cores reported.”

You need a dual-core CPU, at minimum, to run the game.

This lists the specs; which is a Core2 Duo 2.0GHZ or greater. I’m surprised it was even playable before. But yes, you need at least a new CPU.
