Everytime i get the same thing over and over it works fine after i reinstall it again then a week later bam crashing constantly i cant even bring up the character select menu . This is really getting out of hand and support was not able to help wat so ever. its been happening since these last 2 patches have been implemented so idk wat to do anymore but to constantly keep re-downloading the game.

What does it say in the “—> Error Logs <—” section? or better yet attach the full log

i cant atm because im redownloading the game yet again. if it does it more then i can but by the looks of how its going lately it will crash again im 100% sure..

yea it does the job for about 5 or so days then bam here comes the insane crashing randomly again lol some 1 told me to just redownload the game it gives it fresh new files but somewhere along the line the files get corrupted is wat it seems like to me so i guess this is just my minor fix. for now. ever since these last 2 patches its been crashing before those 2 patches honestly i never crashed not once. no lost connection. no error codes at all. so its verry fishy to me.

Are you using ATI gfx?

Have no idea wat that is but i know it cant be my computer thing is brand new like fresh out the box lol it still doesnt explain why i was able to play fine with no problems before these last 2 patches. now its like crashing beyond belief. and im not the only one with this problem thier are hundreds of us. some may not be a severe as mine but nonetheless its thier.

I’m also getting this problem. Yesterday i crashed 5 times or more I think, can’t count anymore…. then i gave up switched off the computer and went to bed.
I started getting this problem after the Wintersday patch on Dec 17th. Prior to that i had never crashed once.
I used to get around this problem by doing a manual uninstall/install of my video card driver (nvidia GT 545). So when I would freshly install the driver I could play for a couple days crash free, them boom it would occur again. Yesterday I tried that again but this time it’s still crashing no matter how many times I re-install the driver. I have the latest nvidia driver 310.70 .
When this problem happens, it’s random in the game , the computer freezes I can’t CTRL+ALT+DEL out of this, I have to switch off the main power of my comp.
This is a nightmare, i’m in contact with Dell support as well they’re trying some stuff on my nividia settings for now but this didn’t work. I’m thinking it is GW2 related though as i am able to play other games crash free.
I have attached the error code windows is giving me in a self diagnostic each time i reboot after a crash maybe that can help.

yup still waiting on anet feedback on this. I know for sure its the game and not my computer because my other games aswell as Rift that is verry similar to this is also running fine on mine with no issues. all we can do is wait atm. hopefully they will comment on this soon.

I am having the same issue as Windfury. My GPU is a nVidia 570 GTX on Win7. I really would like to play, except after the fifth time you have to go to a full system reset, it kinda loses its appeal.

Try running chkdsk on the hard drive for possible problems.

Also, steps in Part 1.1 & Part 5.1 here might be worth trying.

I just wanted to update this thread after trying Kirito’s suggestions for fixing these crashes.
1/ The UAC, I set it to " Never notify me".

2/ DEP (Data Exception Prevention) : I selected the second option. I could not add the GW2 app file to the exception though.

3/ Did a /chkdsk like said.

Also what I did :

4/ Lastly I re-did a clean install of my video card driver, but this time I installed the beta version of 310.70. I read somewhere a dev saying that if your card was messing up installing the beta version would be better.

5/ I ran a registry cleaner.

I am glad to say that I have now been playing 5 days without any crashes !! I’m even getting higher FPS than before from 45 I jumped to 50-60 depending on the zones.
