Seems to crash randomly. Sometimes I play for 30 seconds, other times, I can go for 10 minutes.

I’m constantly crashing like this too, and it looks like the error messages are very similar.

Join the crash club. My gaming computer can’t play it, but my cheap laptop plays it with no problems. They have the same video cards as well. Same posts like this have been popping up ever since the patch a few months ago.

The computer that cant play it can play every other game out there for hours on end at MAX resolution, but can’t play this game. Hmmmmm.

Necrosis, our systems are also fairly similar. I’ve got a support ticket in with Anet. I’ll post here if there are any effective solutions.

I just started crashing today, usually within a minute of logging in so obviously the game is unplayable. I have been playing just fine for months, then all of a sudden today it just starts crashing nonstop. I KNOW my system can handle this game as it is a custom gaming PC that I built myself and it handles every new game on maximum settings.

JerBear, did you just modify your PC’s build or had you been playing normally and then started to experience crashes?

Same problems, crashing every ~10 minutes.

Interestingly, I tried again and this time just shifted the error message out of the way and kept on playing (in borderless fullscreen mode). Everything still seemed to work fine until I tried to change zones, then the game actually stopped responding.

The same thing happens when I have it in fullscreen windowed mode. However, after a few error messages pop-up, the client completely freezes and needs to be restarted.

Turning off CPU/RAM overclocking seems to have fixed this problem for me.

Backed down my CPU overclock, and I haven’t crashed after a couple hours of playing. I guess this game just doesn’t like overclocked hardware.

This seems to be a common enough problem that ANet should create a sticky note about it.

I can confirm that i crash with a blue screen as well. I do not think i’m overheating, TJ Max is at 100 degrees for an I7, and i’m maxing out at 68 degrees in GW2.

This needs to be addressed. I guess I can stop trying to find the problem on my end.

I am getting this same thing as well. It almost seems like it’s getting progressively worse. I’ve tried updating my drivers, I’ve tried running on lowest possible graphics settings (even though I normally run on highest), nothing fixes it or even alleviates it for that matter.

Also, part of the club where undoing the overclock fixed the crashes. Several hours of intelburntest confirmed a stable o/c but gw2 don’t like it… go figure.

My system was designed to clock itself up to 2.9GHz under load, how do i disable this ?
I can’t really play for more than 10 mins at a time, without GW 2 crashing my system.

i7
Win 7 64
GTX 560m

I’m not running a 32 bit system, yet i’m crashing still.

Clyne, you restore the original speeds from the BIOS interface. Also, try turning off Intel Turbo Boost from there if you are using it.

Beren, it seems like you are crashing for a different reason than everyone else on this thread. There are few other threads where crashing upon entering a new map is discussed, but I’m not sure what the solutions might be.
