I’ve posted before but I’ve still not found any answers as to why my game crashes after only a few minutes of gametime.

Doesnt matter what graphics settings I set it to, after anywhere from 10-30 minutes my game will freeze up and crash, then all my background applications like mumble and whatnot crash and I cannot open any programs. Also my audio messes up and is static-y. I have to restart my computer to continue.

Please help me. Please.

It’s sounds like either unstable overclock or overheating.

If OC problem – run stress tests using prime95 for 1 hour+ min

If overheating – run GPU-Z and monitor core and memory module temperatures, run speed fan to monitor cpu temperatures, make sure you have both “always on top” options selected

I would suggest gpu stress test, but I dont want you to burn your card down if it is overheating.

I’ve done both of those and I’m not having any temperature problems, and nothing on my rig is overclocked.

Have you tried limiting your frame rate to 30 or 60 ? Don’t pick unlimited.

Welcome to the club. Underclocking your GPU fixed the problem previously, but now it’s back. No can do, just have to patient for the fix.

@Afro – your drivers aren’t up to date. Try that first. I know it probably won’t fix it but that’s the first thing ANet will tell you to do anyway.

Updated drivers, still crashing. Seems to have even gotten worse. Could I please get an Anet response on this? or a link to a post with a similar problem? I’m sick of this crap

Try underclocking by 50-100 MHz your GPU with a program like MSI Afterburner. It will probably work for you like it worked for me.

What worked for me was, underclocking my GPU and running windowed mode, had to reduce most my ingame settings but beats crashing all the time. Really starting to annoy me and constantly hearing the “your overheating” really gets old.

Same crashing issue here either through Black screen then recover from windows or worse – Red Screen of Death. Underclocking my 660Ti lessens the frequency of crashes.. but it’s still there. And it only happens in this game.

(I’m using 306.02 drivers – 306.23 gives me RSOD in less than 5 mins in-game)
