Crashing in-game allot
same thing has been happening to me and i can’t figure it out. I have already re-downloaded the game 3 times, also none of the repairs have worked.

That is alot of ram being used. Maybe we have a memory leak on our hands?
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
how do you fix that?
A memory leak can only be fixed by ANet.
I believe i’m having the same problem, I posted this yesterday as well; sent in a ticket.
Where your log says “corrupted” mine says “out of memory”. The amount of memory we have is similar. As is the memory used.
Good luck! I’m out of ideas. Going to throw my computer at some repair man! Hah.
If it is a memory leak then Anet really needs to fix this ASAP. I only have 8GB which should be more than enough for GW2

Those numbers are deceptive because of the way Windows 7 (and 8 ) handle memory. Think of it as “reserved” but not really reserved.
Here’s the amount of RAM Guild Wars 2 is using:

Private: 1974MB

…looks reasonable to me with no signs of a memory leak (with GW2 anyway).
I would not expect a memory leak unless you were getting the OOM error.

this is happening for me as well. very frustrating.
why is my data getting corrupted every flipping time i play the game for five minutes?
why is my data getting corrupted every flipping time i play the game for five minutes?
There are numerous things that can cause data corruption. The most common is caused by over-agressive anti-virus software that interferes with the game files. Then there is the possibility of bad sectors on the HDD or memory that is defective or unstable overclocking.
Frustrating as hell! It make me not play often as I like to because of this issue! I’m getting the error below, just today, it happened more then 10 times..
Anet, please advise ASAP..

not over clocked and i have a 2 day old fresh install of win7pro with no AV software to speak of.
I am thinking my memory might be bad? is that possible?

Try re-installing your DirectX

Oh yes. Memory is usually one of the first things to go. Depending on the manufacture, lifespan varies drastically. I had some gaming ram that never gave me problems. Some cheap dell knockoff ram not last a year.
I would go here and download/burn an CD of Memtest86. You may need to run it a few times to find any errors. http://www.memtest86.com/

I’m also frequently crashing.
DirectX reports up-to-date (thanks for the tip, Xystus) and display drivers are current. I can play for hours if I’m roaming the world (or in a crowded city), but if I’m close to or in a large active group (any world boss, Scarlet invasion) I’ll crash out in about seven minutes. Been doing this ever since the last patch. I did notice that patch reset my graphics settings to max and I set ’em back to what I was running before.
Getting about four DX9 errors to one OOM error …

I defragged the data file and disabled all AV with no effect. I can keep from crashing by dropping all graphic options to their lowest settings, but then most of the mobs I’m trying to hit never rez up and everybody is running around in the same grey armor – and it’s just plug ugly. Again, the game was fine before the last patch.
With the removal of culling; we are seeing the OOM more frequently. The fact that you do not crash if you lower your settings is not surprising. You may want to try just lowering the textures a bit, disable shadows and reflections and seeing if that helps. Instead of high/ultra, go to medium.

The OOM errors are only after three or four DX9 errors (re-running GW2 each time), so I’m guessing it’s something not being cleared after the DX9 crashes.
The DX9 crashes seem to be tied to some animation of an air elementalist attack, though I haven’t tracked down exactly which one. That’s why I can run around in a crowded town without a crash.
Ysengrin.6428,
That would be crazy if that were the case.
If you think it maybe tied to a particular animation, I guess you could find an elementalist; hit a dungeon and have him go through his spells.

… and a -repair seems to have cleared up the animation-related crash (if it wasn’t just my seeing a pattern that wasn’t really there in the crash logs). I was able to finish a world boss without any crashes, so I’m hoping that resolves my problem.
Yeah, mine is the same. I’ve got a 2K gaming beast of a computer, and I know the error is not on my end.
I’ve been playing since release with not a single problem,
until this last week or so – lag spikes every 5-10 minutes, frequent d/c’s,
and it’s not getting fixed – so, I decided to just uninstall it and switch to
another game.
It was fun while it lasted, Arenanet, thanks.
Off to greener pastures.
Im having these same issues for the past few days. The MOST frustrating part is that ArenaNet is not responding AT ALL! not on my support tickets, not on these forums, not anywhere. What the hell do we do?
This just started happening to me yesterday. I can play any other game just fine without crashing once but for some reason GW2 crashes on me after a minute or so in game. Not sure if it has something to do with a recent patch or not.
It is a patch problem and you will never get them to admit it. They will just fix it one day and you will never know.
I can’t play like this, crashing every 10 minutes on average. It’s been quite bad for a few days now, but today’s crashing is just too much to enjoy the game.
