Hello there,

I haven’t played guildwars for a while and since I last played it I got a new laptop. The thing is I installed it (and re-installed) but when I want to start up the game I get the message that a serious error has occured. I tried to find a solution on the internet but I can’t seem to find one. Here’s the details of the error and is there anything I can do about it?

Either your GW2.DAT file is corrupt and you need to start the game with -repair option (search wiki for “command line arguments”) OR you are having some issues with user permissions when running the game. Either log in as an administrator or right click the GW2 icon and select “run as administrator”. Note you will need administrator log in credentials for this.
