What happens if a letter is deleted while it still contains money? Will I lose the money or will it automatically go to my bank/inventory?

I have been playing for a few weeks and just realized that when you complete the tasks (hearts) on the map that the letters NPCs send you contain money. I have never noticed the coins/take all button. Those letters are no longer available to me in the mail queue so I am wondering did I lose all of that money for the past few weeks.

Everyone is going to think that we are completely daft, but I have to admit that the same exact thing happened to me when I first started playing. Unfortunately, I don’t think that there’s a way of getting the money back from the deleted letters.

But…I’ve never been able to delete a letter that contains stuff. The ‘Delete’ button is always grayed out if the letter has anything in it.

Wait a minute. Isn’t the option to delete the mail grayed out unless you take all the money that’s in it?
I have never been able to delete any mail that had items/money in it.

Same. The delete option is greyed out and unavailable if the mail contains anything other than text. I MUST accept the coin/items before I can delete the mail.

What happens if you don’t take the money and the mail “fades away”?
I noticed that mail disappears after some weeks, for example I wanted to keep all the map completed mails so I nevere deleted them but they disappeared.
What if those were quest mails with money?

Ok that’s awesome because I noticed only some of the mail faded away but I didn’t know it was only the mail that lacked money. Thanks for the answer this helped a lot.
