I’ve been wondering for awhile if it was possible to get a display name changed.

Only if it poses a security risk i.e. containing the player’s real name.

And by “real name” they generally mean your full name. Brad might be your real first name, but no one is going to be able to track you down via that.

I wish I could change mine, as I feel that I have left a foot print on the internet.

Well, you could request a change as your Display Name references drug use, ICEAciD. They might change it.

The other reason they deny display name changes outside of security concerns, is so that less…. reputable people cannot “hide” their post history.

That’s why Anet doesn’t want to change display names. Because you can then hide your “footprint” and start fresh….

Which usually means people will go and be giant jerks, steal items from guilds, and then change their name so you never know who it is.
