Guild Wars 2

Hey guys sorry if this is in the wrong section, it is actually my first post on this forums. Anyway I’ve been having problems with my gw2 since I got it, I download a 10 Mb patch everytime I run the launcher, it was just annoying at first since it only takes a minute to download this “patch” but after wintersday patch it has grown to approximately 30Mb, with my netspeed i have to wait 3~4 minutes just to even start the loading screen and has become a nuisance. Any idea what is causing this and how can I fix it? I first got GW2 from my friend (copied his GW2 to an external HD and pasted it into my computer) if this has anything to do with this issue. Thanks in advance, hope you can solve my problem!

There have been several updates during the last days. Anet is used to such incremental updates. They do it in GW1 and they do it in GW2.

Just check here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates for the latest updates. This may tell you too, if there is an update for you in the pipeline.

It isn’t a normal patch though :P I download this everytime I run gw2, so if i play for 1 min then close gw2 and want to re-open it, this download comes out.

That looks like it is downloading the client/patcher. Do you have something that is interfering with GW2.dat or C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Guild Wars 2\Local.dat?

Yes I do have that file in that directory! Any idea what I can do?

Of course you have that file. Everybody has it. There will be only a problem if something is interfering or disturbing it. Thats the file where all the updates should go in.

Then any idea what seems to be causing the problem?

• Delete the local.dat
• Run as admin, disable UAC
• Disable antivirus/malware software etc
• Make another windows user account and test

I’m having the same problem now. Gw2 client keeps downloading about 10mb every time i open it. Is there a fix ? I don’t want to redownload the client.(might take a week to do so lol)

Guys nvm i found the fix. Just move your GW2 folder from the Program files folder & Put it in another folder like C://Games etc
