Downloading on Laptop,Transferring to PC.
So i hooked my laptop up to my internet at home and decided to try and load it. It goes to that little patch screen but skips the downloading and initializes into the launcher where you can sign-in and press “play”.
It seems like i’m missing files here, the game client doesn’t try and download when i put the disc in, it just goes straight to patching. Are the patch files located separate from the Guild Wars 2 folder?
For example, WoW has a separate file/program for its launcher titled as Battle.net in a diff location than the actual WoW folder. Am i missing a launcher file possibly?
Your game folder should be something around 20 Gigabyte of data. If it’s significantly less, you haven’t downloaded the full game, only the installer. All the programs and game data you need to play will be in that folder.
Please also have a look at this:

This might be helpful in limiting the amount of data you download at home in the future.
Yah, it’s 20.1GB. I don’t understand why its having me downloading something on my pc…but when i run it on my laptop it doesn’t have to download anything.
I’m more wondering why you can play on your laptop – on my PC, the file is 21.8 GB. Might that be what you’re downloading, the missung 1.7 GB?

The .dat file varies from player to player. There is no set amount/size each client should show.
What exact files did you transfered to the pc? Gw2 creates more files in other folders (some of them are hided ones).
Generally, it is bad to install any game in one hdd and then copy to another.
