Hello all,

you are my last resort to my problem with is going to drive me crazy.

I’ve always run gw2 flawless with high fps (50+ on very intesive situation).
From bw2 something changed and my fps are really really low.
With low i mean 10 fps in hotm and not going over 40 in other less crowded areas.

this problem is driving me crazy because i tried a lot of fixes reading other ppl post on the forum but nothing worked so far.

My main pc spec are as follows:

CPU: 4930k @ 4.5hz
GPU: 780 x2 (sli)
DRIVE: samsung ssd 840 pro
RAM: Corsair dominator platimun 2400hz 8gb

this is the list of thing i’ve done trying to fix the problem

-Reinstalled gw2
-Check gnu slot working properly
-Changed some graphical setting
-testest hardware with other games

All of this didn’t work.
the odd thing is that even with all at low setting i’m barely getting 50 stable fps and a decent framerate.

Another thing that came up to my mind was the upgrade to windows 10 that i did some time ago but the game, after the upgrade, just walked fine.

All i remember is that around bw2 and after some patching the game just run very bad.
It’s almost unplayable.

I’m really worried about my situation because the expansion is near and still i couldn’t fix this issue.
I hope some of you guys can resolve my problem cause i really love the game and i really want to play.

As last thing: i’m quite handy with pc and settings so i’ve already checked any ipotetical hw problem i could have. All other games just runs fine.

Thank for any advice and help you can give

First delete / rename your local.dat if this doesn’t help make a screenshot with
GW2 running in the back and GPU-z and CPU-z in front like this :

I had that the first time yesterday after i changed my SSD from IDE to AHCI mode,
however my second account worked fine so i just copied the local.dat from that
account to my first and changed the login data there.

Where is the local.dat file? I’d like to give this a shot.

Appdata is a hidden folder, so you have to activate it in explorer settings to see them.
Or try if it works when you go on start → run → %AppData%

Gotcha.

I also just switched my SSD to AHCI from IDE.

Deleted the file and started up the game. 60 FPS 1920×1080 now but my nVidia surround play is stuck at a crap resolution. :\

ALSO! V-sync was limiting me to 40FPS instead of 60 despite me having 60+ FPS steadily. Decided to just limit FPS to 60. Hope more improvements happen.

E: Also! Thanks for the fast reply!

Strange also today i suddenly had that bug on my second account and now needed
to copy the dat from my first account back to that one.

60 FPS is fine .. everything else is mostly just heating up your GPU for something
you don’t see but only hear when the fan gets louder ^^

Check up NVIDIA control panel. Choose Manager 3D Settings. Choose
Aplication Game GW2, Set some preferences for :
POWER MANAGER Mode – Maximum Performance
SINGLE MONITOR – If you use only One screen.
In game set up for VSINC on/off – and cap FPS to 60

At least your GPU and CPU run at full speed .. and i would suggest to set at least
character limit to medium, else you may have OOM crashes from time to time at
worldbosses or other big events.

All other problems may be realated to NVidia drivers .. don’t know .. they release
so much crappy drivers that it often took me weeks to find the best and most
stable whenever i tried NVidia.
