Guild Wars 2

My kid is on the trial version of GW2. Everything is fine except he keeps getting asked to verify his email address.
When we go to the email (it’s authentic from guildwars, I check the address from where the email came from) the link that is provided seems broken and won’t hyperlink to the verificaiton page.
I checked all the email settings and can’t find anything wrong. But that doesnt mean I’m not missing something.

Is there another way I can get the verification to work?
Is the verification only intended for those who actually go and purchase the game? (which we intend to do anyways)
then the link will work?

Can you copy and paste the link into a browser to access the page? Or is it broken that way too?

I tried that too. I get an error from the search engine that it can’t locate that page.

no, nothing out of the odrinary with secure sites. I’ll scan the machine and see if i get a different result.
