I just got the game today and i cant even play. I have checked my firewall, security and port forwarding is correct yet i get the same error code – Error 42:0:9001:4344. Any know of a fix?

Are you from Belgium? This a known issue there. For some reason, Anet servers randomly decide to kick Belgian players. There isn’t a known fix for this, you just have to wait until the error goes away (about 10 minutes to 5 hours).
If you’re not Belgian, you should sent a ticket to customer support.

No i’m not. I’m from the states. I submitted a ticket last night but was also looking to see if others knew of a fix. Its killing me seeing as I just got the game and I am dying to play! I appreciate your response.

Having the same problem, the only thing that’s making this worse is apparently no one has an answer on how to fix this problem.

Having the same issue – but it is intermittent. Generally only when using the trading post to look at the ‘buy/sell’ history.

I am a UK Player – Playing on a NA Server if it helps.

I have raised a support ticket – hopefully we can get to the bottom of this problem.

Got the same error for a while now on OSX 10.9.3, Build 34215
Works fine on my Windows machine.

You guys running on Windows machines or Mac?

this issue started roughly after the festival of the four winds patch. i’ve had zero connection issues for years with gw2. random dc’s from gw2 while i’m in skype and the internet and so forth are still working. sometimes i can go for hours, sometimes i can go for 10 minutes before being disconnected with a error 42.

ports 443, 6112, 6600 are confirmed opened. they were port forwarded correctly before this issue started, and just to make sure i tried virtual server instead of port forwarding, and even tried putting the gw2 pc in the dmz zone. made no difference. ports were always open and did not fix the disconnects.

gw2 is added to firewall exception list

tried the tech support fix for this using anet’s suggestions https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Error-Code-42-0-9001-3927-1/first#post53099
“C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
which did not work. i might add that i do use a host file so my dns is disabled. so did not flush dns or reset winsockets

really run out of things to check. talked to my router tech support, roadrunner isp tech support, and motorola tech support to rule out any hardware issues.

be nice to see some anet tech support on this…
