im having this error after today patch(10-01-2013)

I can log in the game but everytime i select or create a character i go the loading screen and i get that error.

EDIT : I think that is safe to say that is not a firewall/antivirus/router Problem, since i didnt chang anything.

Today I tried my level 19 story quest with my level 16 thief. After dying some deaths, I resigned and wanted to get back to the normal game world and left the instance, but the game won’t let me. Instantly this message pops up that leads to closing the game.

I have attached a screencap of the error to this post.
The error is called Code=10:5:11:2144:101

Now I can login and see all my characters standing in the login screen, but I cannot play with any of them, because if I hit “Play”, I see the loading screen for half a second before that error message.

Can I fix this problem? If yes, how?

It seems like no one except me is getting this error.

I found out that if I login into GW2 and wait in the character selection, friends can see me online being in the story instance “Thicker than Water”. Hope this helps to identify my problem.

Confirmed – also a dozen of my friends who also play GW2 are getting the same error.

As the title says, i cant log into the game.

I get to the characterscreen and when i chose a char to play i start to log/load the map but after a while this comes up and the screen goes white.

“The game client is unable to gain access to the log in server at this time. yada yada yada etc
code=42:5:7:878:101”

When i click ok on the errormessage the client restarts.

Anyone else has this issue and is there a quick solution i should know of?

Precisely the same issue since the new build a few mins ago.
Talktalk broadband in UK.

Can consistently login fine, it definitely downloaded the patch but I cannot get beyond character selection.

Same here on EU servers.
I went to WvW to buy some Harversting Materials, as soon as I went iin I got kicked out.
Since then never have been able to log back in. Before and after patching, same thing.
Always getting this nonsense errormesage telling me my firewall may cause the issue (as if) !!
Character selection works fine though but past that I always get 42:5:7:878:101

Actually, I have been having this problem with all my characters, since I got the game, but it is random with me. Like for instance, I tried to create a Sylvari, but after defeating the boss this code comes up, then I have to do the intro mission over and still have the code come up.

I had this problem with my Asura, but for some reason, I was able to eventually able to actually move forward in the story after clicking play enough, but I have no idea as to why. I am able to do some story missions without fail, but then suddenly the message will pop up, and I am kicked out.

The message says somehing about being blocked by a firewall, but my computer isn’t blocking anything that is Guild Wars 2 or Arenanet related. And changing servers has no effect either, I’m sorry if I cannot help, but hopefully if enough people with this problem post about it, then Arenanet will notice and can figure it out, hopefully…

I was in WvW when I got booted. I can’t get back in either (Gunner’s Hold)

Same here at my home, 2 people playing and got the same error. I was at LA.

I wasnt in WvW, i was in Cursed Shore and after this when i try to log in with my guardian i have the frostgorge sound background

Yes, me too. I was in WvW in the middle of something, haven’t been able to login since.. 40mins now.

I was in WvW with a few parties from my guild. We’re also all stuck on loading screen and then this error now. :-/

Same here, plus 2 friends Wvw on Aurora at the time of the patch and cant get past character select.

i was, friends of mine also was in WvWvW, some leaved just before got kicked and they can play, those that did not logged out, has this issue…

unlucky, you will have to start again once they fix this bug.

Seems to be some hating on the WvW’ers…. same error after update.
(was in WvW too on Euro server)
