Error 42
I’ve recently experienced a similar situation. It is the first time I lost connection to the servers and after trying to reconnect , I got error code 42.XX. I’ve not change any settings to my firewall and now it’s not allowing me to reconnect. Anyone who can help me understand why this happened and how to go at it, please post. Thanks in advance!
I got same problem here, 4 hours ago I can log without problem but now always got error 42:1000:7006:1323
It becomes more and more annoying. 1st were in-game lags for about a month, now login error 42…not a single good word about game support
Happens to me also, I recently re-installed GW2. I can log in to any of my games, but in GW2 it doesn’t says it’s an error. Tells me about my firewall, but I double checked everything, and my net. Still doesn’t let me back in.
Same thing here, anyone fixed it already? Can’t play for a week know. And normaly I have no problems at all….

There’s a number of different things that could be causing this issue – if you’re getting this while waiting for e-mail authentication, that’s an account based issue and you will need to submit a ticket.
For everyone else, I’d suggest checking to make sure all TCP ports necessary to play Guild Wars 2 are all open both inbound and outbound.
Also be sure that you do not have any security software or firewalls enabled that could be preventing you from logging in.
Lastly, I’d recommend adding the /clientport 80 command to the end of the target line of your shortcut to the client.
