I’m getting this error on a regular basis that throws me out of the game and dumps me back to the character selection.
Since I’m still connected to the internet I can’t fathom what might be causing this issue. I have found no logical correlation between real-life or in-game events and this error occurring.
It’s especially annoying in PvP because you are dropped from the game and it’s also annoying in Story Instances since you have to do it all over again.
I’ve tried using special traffic-shaping software but to no avail.
It seems completely random and is driving me up the wall.
I’ll add my hardware speccs for good measure:
Windows 7 – 64 bit (up to date).
Intel i5 – 3450 CPU
8 GB of Kingston RAM
Samsung 830 SSD
MSI Z77A – G41 Motherboard
connected via a 3Mbit ADSL connection over a netgear router.
No other comparable issues in other online games.
Tried using cFOS traffic shaping software to no avail.

I started getting 1022, 3032 and 7 within 0 to 30 minutes since the build on the 7th. Played maybe close to 30 minutes total in the last 5 days. Seeing more and more threads like this.
All I can say is that you’re not alone, and that I hope the next build screws balance and skill issues for now and focuses on helping the servers to not abort us. I preordered knowing that there would be balance issues near the beginning. I didn’t preorder to experience GW2 through the forums.
If it goes on for much longer I might surrender my account for the time being. I just got some new sound samples an I need to clear up some 90 gigs of space. Plus I need money to try to visit my man in London.
I love this game and the community. But a life is looking a lot better than an error message.

Maybe i got solution to this error. Im behind router and even after forwarding ports 80,443,6112,6600 I was getting error 1022:5:1:825:101. But try this:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end.
Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.
I was able to play without this error from sunday-wednesday. Switching back to normal gw2.exe made error back in few minutes.
So try forcing GW2 to run on 80 port.
Good luck

Just tried this.
While it might fix 1022:5:1:825:101, I can’t tell, since it’s not immune to 7:11:3:189:101. Crashed as soon as I heard the zone I was in.

Just bumping this for a quick update.
I’ve played for about 3 hours since applying this “fix” and haven’t had a disconnect so far.
It might be too soon to say, but it may just have worked.
Kudos to MadDog for the fix.
